Mary Kay Lash Love Waterproof Mascara Review

I've been using the same mascaras from my same favorite brands for the past year now so I decided to try from other brands. I have thin and sparse eyelashes and I have oily hooded lids so it should really satisfy my preference --- thicker looking, longer, and volumized eyelashes plus it should be waterproof. I only use waterproof because if I use other formulas, I might end up having raccoon eyes after a few hours.

I recently started using the Mary Kay Lash Love Waterproof Mascara. It's the first mascara that I've tried from the mentioned brand so I'm not really familiar with their formulas and other mascaras. I just know that their other mascaras are also called lash love but just with different formula.

The Mary Kay Lash Love waterproof mascara has a dry formula. However, it doesn't really volumize my eyelashes like other mascaras who are also on the drier side. It is not also able to thicken my eyelashes but it does a good job in lengthening them, though and the tiny rubber dense bristles of the mascara applicator evenly coat my eyelashes. Since the mascara wand is slim, you will be able to reach even the inner corners or the hard-to-reach areas.

I got the shade I ❤ Black, by the way.

Another thing that I like about this is that it doesn't clump my eyelashes. I just have one problem with it --- it smudges on me. The first time that I used this, it smudged under my eyes after about an hour or two. I gave it another try because I was thinking maybe it was because of my oily  lids or because of the concealer that I used or it was probably because I was wearing glasses so the eye area was moistened or whatever. But the second time (and a few more following times) I used it, I experienced the same thing.

I did not wear my eyeglasses the time that I took those photos. Other mascaras, even the waterproof ones, also smudge sometimes under my eyes but it would usually happen after long hours of wearing them without retouching my makeup, not even reapplying powder nor blotting my face. This mascara smudges on me only after an hour or two. I've read other reviews though and other people seem to like this but it just doesn't work well on me. Oh, if you're wondering, this mascara is not that difficult to remove (in my experience).

Overall, I think it's just an okay product for me considering that it's a little pricey but the quality is not that satisfying, at least for me. It's good for everyday makeup looks though because it doesn't give you that really dramatic effect on your eyelashes. But of course, just because it didn't suit my liking doesn't mean that it won't suit yours. What didn't work on me doesn't mean won't work on you as well. I don't hate the Mary Kay Lash Love Waterproof Mascara and I don't like it either.
