Cathy Doll's First Anniversary and Nude Me Collection Launch

Seems like just yesterday when Cathy Doll invited us to their launching here in the Philippines! I can't believe it's already been a year. I can still remember the booths and the happenings that day. It was actually one of the best events I've been invited to because it's super fun and the aura is just lively and colorful.

Last May 25, 2017, Cathy Doll Philippines celebrated their first year anniversary at Spatzle, Shangri-La Mall and I am very happy that I was invited again to one of their special events. Happy anniversary and congratulations, Karmart and LifeStrong Marketing, Inc., for a wonderful and successful first year here in PH! Your products are already loved by many Filipinas and I am actually one of them.

Ms. Nikki Tiu, top beauty blogger and our ever awesome and bubbly host, surprised the owners of LifeStrong Marketing, Inc., Mr. Lance Lee and  Mrs. Marge Lee, with an adorable Cathy Doll-themed cake!

Banila Co. Robinson's Manila Store Launch

Banila Co., the number 1 Korean base makeup brand, launched their flagship store in Robinson's Place Manila last May 7, 2016. Despite being launched in the Philippines just last November 2015, Banila Co. managed to open three branches already within its first six months and their newly opened branch in Robinson's Place Manila is their very first boutique.

The theme of the event is Seoul Beauty, which introduces the concept of Korean beauty with that famous Korean "lit from within" glow or what the Koreans call the Sok Gwang Trend. Beauty influencers were invited to an afternoon filled with fun activities and makeup demo hosted by pro makeup artist and YouTube beauty guru, Shebby Liquete.

Banila Co. Launch in PH + Haul!

(Late post)

Korea’s influence over our cosmetics industry has gained considerable momentum through the years — and it promises to grow even bigger. The first wave of the Korean cosmetics invasion brought to the Philippines a plethora of Korean cosmetics brands that focuses mainly on skincare. The Philippines however, stands as the only country in South East Asia where makeup outsells skincare. Despite this, there hasn’t been a brand that can truly stand for Korean makeup until today.

Product Review: Rucy's Vanity Whitening Effect Mineral Two Way Cake

So, I want to start by clarifying that this two way cake from Rucy's Vanity is not like those other two-way powders that you can use with damp or dry sponges. This is a powder that you can use as a foundation and as a powder.  Now that we've cleared that up, let's proceed to the review. :)

Product Review: Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lipstick

You know what, as much as I want to use more often and love Korean cosmetics, I just can't seem to do it because they're pretty expensive (for me). Don't get me wrong, most Korean products that I've tried are actually great but they just don't seem that budget-friendly to me. I always think that what makes their products expensive (other than the quality) is their fancy packaging. Korean cosmetic brands always have the cutest and most beautiful packaging! That's why a lot of girls are going gaga about their products.

It's a good thing we have Rucy's Vanity! Rucy's Vanity is a Korean brand of skin care and cosmetics and according to the owners, they created Rucy's vanity for their love for the Filipinos, especially for the Pinay girls who love makeups. They are also aware how expensive Korean cosmetics can be so they decided to create products that are budget-friendly but have high quality. How did they do that? Well, they didn't make the packaging of their products that fancy. They kept it simple but presentable.

If you're watching or following different Pinay YouTube beauty gurus, then you'll know that, like me, they are also raving about these affordable Korean cosmetics. Heads up, you'll be seeing a lot of Rucy's Vanity product reviews soon. First that I want to share with you are the Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lipsticks because I really love lipsticks, and I know you do, too! Hehe!

Product Name: Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lipstick
Price: P150.00
Available at: Candyloveart Studio

Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lipsticks have two kinds. The other Gleamy Lipstick line comes in a bronze tube, has a wider color selection, and the lipsticks have different textures (creamy, satin, frosted). The Gleamy Lipsticks that I have are the ones in the black plastic casing, lipsticks have the same texture which is creamy, and they are available in only 5 shades.

As you can see, the packaging is really simple. The casing may be made of plastic but it's actually sturdy. At the bottom of the tube, you'll find the shade name.

Like what I've said, the texture is really creamy so they glide on smoothly when you apply it on the lips. As for the pigmentation, it has a good color pay off but some of the shades require about 2 layers to really show its true color. Here are the swatches:

1. Qute Pink (nude pink)

2. Hot Pink (probably my favorite among the 5 shades)

3. Red

4. Orange (what you see is what you get)

5. Dark Red

If you can notice, the shade Red is actually not that far from the shade Dark Red. The former is actually more pigmented than the latter. Dark Red is like a muted red shade and if you look closely, the texture has more sheen than the 4 other shades.

As for the staying power, it's not bad. It stays on for about 3-4 hours on the lips with minimal fading. Also, some of the shades can stain the lips like the shade Hot Pink.

Here is my video review about the Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lipsticks:

I guess the only things I don't like about this product is the fact that the shades Red and Dark Red are almost similar (there are times when I can't really tell the difference in photos) and that the actual colors of some of the shades don't show on the first application. Other than that, I don't see any problems with it. The price is really affordable and the quality is commendable. So, yes, I recommend this to my fellow Pinay beauties out there who are always in a budget, especially my fellow school girls. :)

If you want to try these lipsticks and other Rucy's Vanity cosmetics but you're too far from Candyloveart Studio, I guess you can order online. Please visit Rucy's Vanity Official on Facebook for your inquiries and orders.

♥ Korean Haul (Eyelash Adhesives, Double Eyelid Tools and, more!) ♥

During my Meet and Greet last August 3, the owner of MyrSkin, Ms. Myra, handed me a bunch of Korean cosmetics. Most of them are eyelash adhesives. I was supposed to give away some of it during the event but there were too many prizes already so I just decided to give it away on other events. I might include this on my 3K+ subscribers giveaway which I will announce soon! *wink*

I will keep some of it and I will give away a few of these Korean cosmetics. :) So, what are those things that I'm talking about? Read further.

1. Darkness Eyelash Adhesive
- comes in a squeezable tube with applicator stick

2. Darkness Eyelash Glue and Gel
- another eyelash glue with applicator stick. Reminds me of the Nichido eyelash adhesive but this is way bigger

3. Darkness Eyelashes Whole Aspect Adhesives (Premium Eyelash Glue and Gel)
- another eyelash adhesive, same as the Darkness Eyelash Glue and Gel on number 2. However, this is from their premium line so I think it is more heavy duty. It also comes in a tube which is stored in a black pouch. This eyelash adhesive is black unlike the other eyelash adhesives which are just transparent.

4. Darkness Double Eyelid Whole Aspect Adhesives (Premium Eyelash Glue and Gel)
- I was a little confused with this product because it says on the box that it's a double eyelid adhesive but it also says Premium Eyelash Glue and Gel. It also looks the same as the Darkness Eyelash Whole Aspect Adhesives, even the packaging. They just differ in color because the eyelash whole aspect adhesive is in black while this one is white. Also, it comes in a silver box with a maroon pouch. Hmm... I think this is also for your falsies because that's what it says on the instruction at the back or maybe both functions? Oh, well! :-D

5. Blue Magic Oil Control Film
- Hope it works great!

6. Secret Magic Double Sided Tape
- This is for those who have monolids/Asian eyes. I actually don't know how to use it and I don't think I'd be comfortable wearing them.

6. Préta Compact Powder
- This powder broke my heart! I was so excited pa naman about this product but when I opened it, it was broken! :-( I didn't know what happened. The powder's texture is very silky and the upper part looks like a highlighter. The shade is a tad lighter than my skin color so I think this would be perfect to use as a highlighter for me. Still sad about what happened to it. It looks really pretty pa naman! *sigh*

Stay tuned for my review of these Korean products and of course, for my upcoming giveaway! Giveaway na naman??? YES! :)

Thank you, Ms. Myra!

Please visit MyrSkin on Facebook for more info about their products and you can also find them at PureBeauty stores.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)
