500 Pesos Makeup Challenge: Romantic Date Night Special

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!

I finally did the 500 Pesos Makeup Challenge that's been around in the Pinay YouTube beauty community. Char of MsYellowYum and Gem of RareVanity created this tag! Thanks, Ms. Char and Ms. Gem! :)

This tag was created last June 2012 pa but it was only a few days ago when I finally decided to do it! I've been meaning to do it since last year or ever since I watched Char's video but it was too challenging. Hahaha! Although the makeup brushes and other tools are not included in the P500 budget, it was still difficult. Well it's not really that hard because you can find a lot of affordable and cheap products out there but it is difficult if you're going to find products that are affordable but have good quality. I really wanted to use products that are not just cheap and affordable but also something that you can really use in the future and not just for the sake of the challenge. Agree?

So, I've had many attempts. Let me show you this look:

- This photo was taken last October 2012 when I road tested the first set of products for my P500 Makeup Challenge. It was okay, however, I'm not satisfied with some of the products I used. The look was okay but still, there's something missing. Anyway, if you're interested to know what are the products I used in the photo above, here's the list:

If you'll ask me, I like myself better with a darker and louder lip color but this is the set that I chose because first, the products I used are better and second, it's perfect for this season of love! :) Plus I know a lot of people will dig this look since it is simpler.

MY BOYFRIEND DOES MY MAKEUP (TAG) + 4th Year Anniversary

Hi everyone!

This year, my boyfriend and I both turned 23 and our relationship also got a year older! We're already in our 4th year and I've been very happy with him, with us. Yes, we did have our ups and downs but we all know a relationship wouldn't be complete and wouldn't grow strong without facing trials and challenges, right? I'm really happy and I cannot believe we reached this far. I love him so much! :)

Anyway, this year we celebrated our anniversary differently. We were kind of in a tight budget this year because we are both studying again so we don't really have stable jobs/incomes. We didn't celebrate our anniversary this year like we always do like go out and eat at a fancy restaurant, watch a movie, shop, etc. Instead, we decided to film the MY BOYFRIEND DOES MY MAKEUP TAG which almost all of the YouTube beauty gurus had already done since last year. It wasn't actually too hard to convince him and talk him into doing this tag because he's such a cowboy! He's game for anything and I love that about him!

We actually got a lot of good feedbacks and comments on our video and I am so glad people liked it! They said my boyfriend has a future in makeup. Haha! And I agree! He's actually good in blending the foundation and especially LINING THE EYES! I really loved the winged/graphic eyeliner he did on me. I'm planning to recreate it but of course, a better version! LOL!

Told ya, the liner looks awesome! I love that he chose purple colors! Actually, the eyeliner that he did and the lip color that he chose are both makeup trends for this season! Hah! GOOD JOB! If you haven't watched our video yet, click the thumbnail below. :)

We had sooooo much fun filming this video and I can't stop watching it because it makes me happy! Thanks to Lincon for being such an awesome sport and not being a buzz kill!

I am so glad this is what we did this year for our anniversary. Yes we're on a tight budget but still, we managed to celebrate in a very unique, happy, and fun way! Moments like this always remind me of the song Danny's Song by Kenny Loggins:

"Even though we ain't got money,

And in the morning when I rise,

10 QUESTIONS TAG

Hi everyone!

So, I was browsing the Filipina Makeup Artists Facebook page when I saw Vergielyn's (Glaze, Glimmer and Glam) 10 questions tag post. I thought it was fun and I decided to do the tag as well. I remember how I became so hooked in answering the different surveys and questions in Friendster. Ah! I miss Friendster! Hahaha! Remember how we all got so addicted to Friendster? Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Anyway, here goes the 10 questions tag!


1.What things can you not leave the house without?

- Wallet, I.D., and my mobile phone!

2. What is your favorite color? 

- RED! I love the color red since I was a kid. And as I grow up, I'm loving it even more because I believe it is the color of confidence! (Legally Blonde? Haha!)

3. What is your favorite song right now?

- Too many!!! But I found myself listening a lot to Stigmatized by The Calling, Love Song by Sara Bareilles, You and I by Lady GaGa, and New Perpective by Panic! At The Disco lately. :)

4. What is so special about you?

- I think what's so special about me is the fact that I always think about the people that I love, being sport and optimistic in life, and being grateful and appreciative even to the littlest things.

5. What is your favorite food?

- Mashed potatoes and burgers!!! :)

6. What is your biggest turn off?

- Self-centered, mister or miss-know-it-all, irresponsible and people who don't practice proper hygiene.

7. What did you want to be when your were growing up?

- When I was a kid, I wanted to become a pediatrician. Then one time in high school when we did a reporting in front of the school, I was told by my classmates that I should be a news reporter because I could make a career out of it. I never really imagined that I will become a makeup artist. ;-)

8. What is the dangerous thing you have ever done?

- The most dangerous  thing that I have ever done was ride with my boyfriend in a motorcycle at 100kph. Hahaha!

9. What are you scared of?

- Being away from the people that I love... snakes, lizards, frogs and the like! eeeehh!!!

10. When and why did you start your blog?

- I started blogging last June 2011. The main purpose of my blog actually is to become my online portfolio for my makeup works. Then as I discover different beauty tricks and products, my blog became a beauty blog then it also became my life blog as well. :-D

How Much Is Your Face Worth? TAG!

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I saw this tag from Jannie of jannieology and I was intrigued what this tag is all about. I read her post and I thought it was an interesting and fun tag to do. In this tag, you have to look back in one of your previous FOTDs or I guess you can just base this to your everyday makeup routine and then add up ALL of the products that you use/used for that particular look. In my case I'll be both doing one of my previous FOTDs and my current everyday makeup look. Isn't it exciting to know how much is your face worth? Err.. I guess not. Especially to those who are lovers of high-end cosmetics! :D

I guess it's not that bad, right? I am actually not a big fan of high-end cosmetics. I mean I would love to try them out but if you're someone like me who loves to save more than to spend, then there should be no problem in using drugstore and cheap cosmetics if they also have great qualities, right? Actually, PhP 4304 is already too much for me. Haha! There are some high-end makeups that cost PhP 4000+ individually, I mean, there are some palettes that already costs PhP 4000+ and above so I guess the total of the products that I used is not bad anymore. But then again some, especially men, may not understand us women why we spend too much in makeups. I guess once they fill in our shoes, they would totally understand!

And the most important thing is that, each of these products are not used only once. These products will last you a long time especially the foundation. If you have to spend a lot for a product, you should invest more in skin care products and foundations. A smoother and softer canvass results to better makeup! :)

The 7 Deadly Beauty Sins (Tag)

A week ago, I found this tag video from RachhLoves wherein she did the 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty, apparently, yes, there are beauty sins and these are the most deadliest (according to the tag ^_^)!!! I thought it was interesting and a lot of fun so I decided to do it since RachhLoves tagged everyone. :)

So, basically, you just have to answer 7 questions and and each questions are related to the real 7 Deadly Sins --- GREED, WRATH, GLUTTONY, PRIDE, SLOTH, LUST, and ENVY.

These are the questions and of course, I'm going to list my answers, too.

1. GREED - What is your most expensive beauty item and your most inexpensive?

---> My most expensive beauty item is the Laura Mercier Petite Eye Palette in Celestial Nights. It retails for $28 so if you convert that to Philippine peso, it would cost PhP 1,190 something or PhP 1,200. This palette is really small, it fits on my palm and it only consists 3 shades of eyeshadow. But, I mean, come on, it's Laura Mercier. That shouldn't be so surprising na. Anyway, I didn't buy this for myself. It was actually given to me by a certain someone.

For the most inexpensive beauty item, I would have to say my Heng Fang Lipsticks. I have 5 shades and each tube only costs PhP 45.00. :)

2. WRATH - What beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with? What is the hardest to get?

---> I have a love/hate relationship with my eye pencils because sometimes they look good on me, sometime  I think I look weird having them on my eyes. =/

---> I totally forgot to answer this in my video, but I guess the hardest to get are the ones that you could only buy online. Like here in the Philippines, NYX, Urban Decay, etc. are not available in any shopping malls. You have to order it online, pay it through bank deposit, PayPal or any form of money transfer and you have to wait for more than 2 weeks to receive the item/s.

3. GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty items?

---> I'm really loving my Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Four Slices of Raspberry Cheesecake lip balm because of its flavor! Well, just a disclaimer, I don't eat my beauty products unless it's edible (LOL). But I think it's delicious because of its scent and yeah, you might taste it a bit once you've applied it on your lips. Another one is my or are my Etude House Roll Roll Glosses. They smell and taste like cotton candy. Yum! :)

4. SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

---> Blushers. I usually forget to apply blushers or even most of the time, I skip applying blushers because of laziness and also, I am really not a big fan of blushers. I like them but I don't use them on a daily basis. Next is highlighter. I only use it when needed, especially on makeup tutorials and big events. Lastly, eyelash curler. When I'm in a hurry or when I'm too lazy, I skip curling my eyelashes and just go ahead in coating my eyelashes with mascara.

5. PRIDE - What beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?

---> Bold and loud lip colors especially RED LIPS. I don't think all women can pull off red lips. I think some of them think that it don't look good on them and some may be too shy to wear red lip colors or other bold colors because we all know that bright and bold lips are head turners. It's not that I like having attention (well just a little bit hahah), but it's just that I feel confident because I can courageously sport it at different places without feeling a bit awkward and annoyed by people staring on my lips.

6. LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

---> I was a bit surprised when I read this question because it's obviously not a beauty-related question. But if I really have to answer that well, a guy should be smart, has a sense of humor, and he should know how to practice personal hygiene!

7. ENVY - What items would you want to receive as gifts?

---> I'll make this really quick --- Sigma Brushes, Ben Nye cosmetics, MUFE flash palette and liners, Urban Decay palettes, Lancome cosmetics, Kryolan, Cinema Secrets concealers, MAC pigments. ;-)
