PRODUCT REVIEW: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (Smitten)

Hi everyone!

I found my lips' new best friend! I feel like I'm going to be super obsessed with this! A week ago, I finally got my hands on the famous Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. A couple of months ago, there was a hype about these balm stains. Like with the Revlon Lip Butters, some YouTube gurus kind of went loca with these balm stains... and now I know why!

This balm stain by Revlon is definitely addictive (well, at least for me). I can't stop using it ever since I bought it. The formula is really awesome and the shades are pigmented plus there are 12 colors to choose from!

Last week, we went to SM Annex North Edsa to have my laptop fixed at Toshiba because something went terribly wrong with it! Anyway, I got bored while waiting so I decided to roam around the mall first. I visited one of my favorite stores ever which is Watsons and I was sooooo surprised when I saw different shades of the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains at the Revlon counter. I was waiting for the day that they will arrive here in the Philippines and they finally invaded different local stores and malls here in our country. I quickly checked them out and swatched a few colors on the back of my hand. At first I thought the color was too sheer but the sales rep. told me that the color is buildable, and it really is! I tested one shade on my lips and I was impressed with its pigmentation and how it felt on my lips. I rushed back to Toshiba and encouraged my Mom to check out the awesome balm stains. She got intrigued about it because my Mom is obsessed with lipsticks that stays on your lips for long hours because she doesn't like the idea of re-applying and re-applying lipstick on her lips when she's out. I brought her to Watsons and showed her the balm stains. I helped her choose a shade that suits her. She tried the shade Crush and it looks lovely on her. It's a shame that I did not take a photo of her wearing it. Anyway, she liked it on herself as well and without thinking twice, she decided to buy one for herself. Of course, she bought one for me, too! Yay! She ended up buying Crush which is a berry-ish color and I chose the shade Smitten which is a hot pink color.

Now let's get on to the review, shall we?

PRODUCT NAME:  Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
PRICE:  PhP 575.00
SPOTTED:  Watsons, SM Annex North Edsa

"It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood."

The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is the lip balm version of the Just Bitten Lip Stain. The Just Bitten Lip Stain is a lip marker with a balm that you have to apply on top of the lip stain. It requires more time and effort than the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain because it's a lip stain and a lip balm already in one. It's like they mixed the lip stain and the separate balm.

Shades L-R: Crush, Smitten

These balm stains look like chic jumbo crayons. Don't worry too much in how you are going to sharpen them because these amazing balm stains are retractable. See that silver area at the bottom of the crayon? Just twist it and the balm would go up. Instant sharpening! Twist it back and it should retract down. ;-) I like that they are big because it would be so quick and easy to fill in your lips with it.

There are 12 shades available and I noticed that most of the colors are in the shade of pink. Some of the balm stains have shimmers on it but they are not really that noticeable after application. They just give an additional sheen on your lips. If you could see on the photo above, the balm stain on the left side has shimmers on it. That's my Mom's, actually and the shade is called Crush. I just wish they have more colors such as Reds and Purples. They have a red shade but it's more of a brownish red.

The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain smell like peppermint which is a huge factor for me because I love products that are minty! It's cool on the lips when you apply it but the cooling sensation doesn't last for long. It will subside after like 10 minutes or less but the minty scent lasts the whole day. I really love it.

It glides on smoothly like a lip balm when you apply it and it really makes your lips softer and smoother. On the day that I bought my balm stain, I was having really, really dry lips because I've just recovered from a flu and that flu made my lips super dry and chapped. I was amazed on how the balm stain helped soften my dry lips. It's really moisturizing on the lips and in my experience, that moisture is locked in for about 6 hours. I bet if you don't eat or lick your lips a lot, then it would go on for more than 6 hours. Hee!

When I applied it on my lips, I thought, "Okay, it moisturizes and it really feels good on my lips. Now, I wonder how long would it stain my lips". On the first night that I tried it, I was already amazed because the color stayed on my lips for 5 hours even after eating dinner and talking a lot and drinking a lot. I was on water therapy that day. The next day, we attended worship service and I decided to  use my balm stain again to test out its color's longevity again. Let me show you the photos of evidences. ;-)

Our worship service starts at 7:45p.m. I decided to prepare early so I already had my makeup on at 7p.m.

Doesn't the color looks lovely?

We just got home from worship service in this photo. As you can see, the balm has dried up a bit already but it still felt really moisturizing. The color, however, was still pigmented.

In this photo, I just had my dinner. I ate roasted chicken so it's  bit greasy. The color faded out a bit already but  it was still vibrant. My lips remained soft and smooth.

The stain got sheered out again and the color was not even anymore on my lips. But the good news is that my lips still felt soft and moisturized.

First of all, please excuse my unpleasant face. Haha! My makeup faded already  that's why I looked hideous in this photo. For crying out loud it's already past midnight. Anyway, the color of my lips was really washed out by this time but there were still uneven stains especially on my bottom lip. The color filled in the crevices of my lips. The best part is that the moisture was still there! Isn't it amazing?

The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is absolutely and totally awesome! It treats your lips an it stains your lips for hours. It feels very light on the lips and it is really moisturizing. What I also like about it is that, your lips really look like it has just been bitten. I love, love, love these balm stains. I want to save money so that I could buy all of the shades. I really do want to buy all of them! When I reviewed the Revlon lip butter, I have mentioned that you're crazy if you're going to buy all of the shades. But with these balm stains? I don't care! Because I really do love it.

If you're wondering what is the difference between the Just Bitten Kissable balm stain and the Lip Butter, well, they both are moisturizing on the lips but the lip butter is creamier. With the lip butter, you have to keep on reapplying it because the color would fade out after a couple of hours or less or even after eating. The only thing that I like about the Revlon lip butter is that it has a wide range of shades available --- from nudes, to peaches, to pinks, to purples, to reds, to browns. :)

Anyway, I really love my Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain! It's long-wearing, it's moisturizing, and it doesn't smudge or bleed. I wear it every time I go out. I even wore it to school today!

I definitely recommend this Balm Stains by Revlon. For some (including me), I guess it's a bit pricey but I'm telling you, it's absolutely worth every cents. :-)
