Product Review: Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream and Lotus Sparkling Mask

I don't know why, but it seems like Thailand skin care and cosmetic brands are becoming popular in the online beauty community here in the Philippines. I've tried a few and they're actually pretty awesome. One of the Thailand skin care brands that I've been loving is Bangkok Face. They offer different facial products that will cater to different skin types and skin conditions. What I have here with me to share with you are the Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream and Bangkok Face Lotus Sparkling Mask.

Product Name: Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream and
Bangkok Face Lotus Sparkling Mask
Price: P750 each
Available at: The Mestiza Hub (online store) and at Candyloveart Studio

Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream
"The sparkling glow jewel to flawlessly serve your skin"

According to the brand, this is an all-day, all-night natural cream repair that is formulated with the Glowing jewel of Thailand, Pomegranate extract, a gorgeous fruit with natural luxury scent that can be used as a shortcut for beauty. It has properties that can help reduce oxidant activity and it can also lighten dark spots while firming and brightening your skin.

The texture of the actual product really resembles a pudding. The consistency is very thick and it has a matte finish so this is really perfect for people with oily skin. The good thing about it is that, even though it mattifies the skin, it is also moisturizing and non-drying. It's not that easy to spread on the face though due to its thick texture. I think people with oily skin will surely love this because it controls the oiliness of the skin and it helps minimize the pores.

Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream claims to lift and whiten your skin and minimize pores.

Directions: Apply on entire face routinely, day and night.

Bangkok Face Lotus Sparkling Mask
"The purification of beauty that is heart-worthy and well-match with Asian gorgeous skin"

According to the brand, Lotus Sparkling Mask is the ultimate all in one solution for whitening processes. It contains lotus stamen extract which has the ability to act as anti-oxidant to slow down aging process. It also acts as anti-inflammation and whitening agent that is guaranteed by Thai people to be very effective.

Unlike the Gem Fruit Pudding Cream, the Lotus Sparkling Mask has a thinner consistency and is much more moisturizing. It has a dewy finish but gets absorbed by the skin pretty quickly and it won't make your skin become oily nor greasy. It is very moisturizing and it leaves the skin soft and smooth. What I love about this product is that it can give you that healthy glow on the skin when you wake up the next day. Not kidding at all. :)

Bangkok Face Lotus Sparkling Mask claims to whiten, firm, and moisturize your skin.

Directions: Apply cream thickly over your face and leave it overnight without washing off, 2-3 times a week.

You can use the Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream and Lotus Sparkling Mask separately but it is recommended that you use them together --- not at once but in your skin care routine. There's a sample schedule that you can follow and this is what I've been religiously following since I started using these products.

Here are my photos to support my testimonies about these Bangkok Face products. I took a before photo, then I applied the Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream on the right side of my face and the Bangkok Face Lotus Sparkling Mask on the left.

I'm not sure if you can clearly see it in the photo but notice that the left side of my face looks more dewy and the right side looks more matte and the pores were blurred --- not because of photoshop but it's because of the pore minimizing effect of the Gem Fruit Pudding Cream.

Here's a side-by-side image of my before and after:

I am absolutely impressed with these skin care products from Bangkok Face! They are effective and helped in improving my skin condition. Both are moisturizing and makes my skin softer and smoother. I would definitely suggest that you give these babies a try! They are actually kind of pricey for their size but the quality is really commendable. The Bangkok Face Gem Fruit Pudding Cream is definitely one of my favorite facial creams of all time since I have oily/combination skin. I'm sure you'd love these, too! :)

Head on to The Mestiza Hub now if you're interested to try these Bangkok Face skin care products. You can also follow them on Instagram @themestizahub. These are also available at Candyloveart Studio of Ms. Joyce Sola at Room 809 KB ARIZONA TOWER Padre Campa Street Sampaloc Manila (near UST, FEU & ST. TOMAS SQUARE).

Product Review: YC Skin Care Pore Minimizer and Oil Control Sunblock

Applying sunblock or sunscreen is very important because it shields your skin from the harmful UV rays. Being exposed under the sun can speed up the aging process and may even result to skin cancer. To avoid having wrinkles and brown spots at an early age, it is highly recommended that you apply sunscreen before heading out.

However, sunscreens can be really thick and greasy. Thankfully, I was introduced to this sunblock which is very friendly for people with oily and combination skin type like me. Plus, it's perfect for our weather here in the Philippines.

Product Name: YC Skin Care Pore Minimizer and Oil Control Sunblock (SPF 150)
Price: P250
Available at: YC SkinCare (online shop)

This YC SkinCare Pore Minimizer and Oil Control Sunblock is love at first use! It is in a form of gel so it is easily absorbed by the skin and doesn't give that greasy and heavy feeling unlike other sunscreens. The SPF is also very high so it's a perfect weapon to combat the harmful rays of the Sun!

I never leave the house without using this sunblock. I apply it on my face and neck after putting on my moisturizer and before doing my makeup. Yes, it also helps minimize your pores and can control the oiliness of the skin. Since it's in a gel form, it leaves your skin matte but without that dry feeling. Also, since it's a pore minimizer and an oil control product, it can already double up as a face primer (in my opinion) because it serves as a barrier between your skin and the makeup you're going to use.

TIP: Allow your skin to absorb the YC SkinCare Pore Minimizer and Oil Control Sunblock before putting on your makeup.

I highly recommend this sunblock especially to those who have oily skin or combination skin type like me. It's definitely worth it! YC SkinCare Pore Minimizer and Oil Control Sunblock is available in 15g and 50g. If you want to try it out, please click here to be redirected to YC SkinCare's Facebook page or simply search YCskincare on Facebook.

Don't forget to visit their YouTube channel too so you'll have a guide on how to properly use their products.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Hello everyone! How's it going? It's been almost a month since I last updated my blog. I've been busy with school and other things that's why I wasn't able to post new entries and even upload new videos. Thank goodness, I finally found the time for my blogging life!

Anyway, you've probably seen already on the title of this post what's this about. Last month, I received the KikaySiMaria Face and Body Set from Ms. Eloisa Co (fellow beauty blogger), the girl behind KikaySiMaria. She partnered with The Queen's Essentials to create her very own skin care line. The set includes four products --- Glutathione Lotion, Obagi Blend Soap, Collagen Toner, and Collagen with Emu Oil Cream.

Let's talk about the facial products, first. I've been using this set religiously since last month. I decided to wait until I finish the moisturizer before blogging about it to really see the result. The KSM Skin Care line have whitening and anti-aging benefits so most of the products from the set contains collagen.

"Potent Tri-active Beauty Bar – enriched with the best combination of Arbutin with lemon peel extract, Kojic and Glutathione. This bar is made of unique blend that helps whitens, rejuvenate skin and removes blemishes."

During the first days of using this set, this soap would give a mild stinging sensation. It's actually normal because that means that the soap is already taking effect. Be careful though because this soap is very strong so avoid the eye area because it stings like hell and you will cry! Hahaha! According to the directions, you should leave the lather on your skin for about 2-3 minutes before rinsing it. I usually just leave it for 1-2 minutes. After rinsing it, you'll feel that your skin is dry and maybe that is because this soap is a powerful one. The pink area is the arbutin with lemon peel extract, the white area is glutathione, and the orange part is kojic

I must say that this soap is pretty good. It was able to lighten my dark spots. However, it wasn't able to treat my pimples. This isn't a healing or treatment soap though so it's okay. It took about almost two weeks before I noticed the lightening effect. Here's my before and after shots:

Before (August 2014) | After (September 26, 2014)

As you can see from the image above, the pimple scars on my right cheek were lightened as well as the other mini dark spots on my face. I got new zits on my brow area though, hence the new scars so never mind that part na lang. :)

Honestly, I think that this toner is just an okay product for me. It doesn't give you that drying or tightening of the skin feeling like other commercial toners do. However, like other toners, it's able to remove excess dirt and traces of makeup. It also smells a bit like alcohol but the scent doesn't linger and it disappears after the toner's been absorbed by the skin. I've been using it day and night because that's what it says on the direction.

This has got to be my favorite item from the KSM set! It smells so good and it's very moisturizing. According to the instructions, you should use this at night only so that's what I've been doing. Unfortunately, I emptied the pot already but it actually lasted for over a month because a little goes a long way. Aside from being moisturizing, this cream also helps give me that glowing and supple skin. It's working its wonders overnight as you sleep so when you wake up in the morning, you'll have this soft and healthy-looking skin.

Here's another before and after image. I started using this skin care set during the second week of August 2014. The after photo was taken just before I started writing this post.

After over a month of using the KikaySiMaria Skin Care Set, I noticed that my skin really improved. It looks smoother and healthier now. If you're wondering how to properly use the set, here's the direction for use:

1. Wash your face with the Obagi Blend Soap and soak for 2-3 minutes. Please do not apply directly the bar soap on your skin.
2. After rinsing, apply the Collagen Toner.
(Don't forget to apply sunblock before leaving the house)
3. Apply Glutathione Lotion (body).

1. Wash your face with the Obagi Blend Soap and soak for 2-3 minutes. Please do not apply directly the bar soap on your skin.
2. After rinsing, apply the Collagen Toner.
3. Apply the Collagen with Emu Oil Cream evenly on your face.

If you noticed from the direction, the Collagen with Emu Oil cream should only be used at night. I recommend that you still use a moisturizer during day time because it is very important, considering also that the Obagi Blend Soap is very strong. It is also indicated on the instructions that you should apply sunblock and it is actually a must! If you're wondering what sunblock I'm currently using, well, it's the YC SkinCare Pore Minimizing and Oil Control Sunblock which I will discuss further on a separate post. :)

Oh, you think that's all of it? Let's not forget about the KSM Glutathione Lotion!

I am absolutely in love with this lotion because it smells so good! The consistency is thicker than other commercial lotions, almost like a cream, actually. It's really moisturizing and easily absorbed by the skin. It doesn't give you that sticky feeling so good job on that, KSM! :) As you can see in the photo above, it comes with a pump so it's convenient to use. If you look closer, you'll see that it has a clip which serves as a stopper so that you can bring it with you anywhere you go and you won't have a problem in accidentally dispensing the product when you put it inside your bag. The KSM Glutathione Lotion is now available in D&G Light Blue Scent.

The KIKAYSIMARIA SKIN CARE SET costs Php500 which is not bad, actually! It's very affordable already, considering you'll already get a complete set. They're also selling the products individually so yay for that because honestly, I don't think I won't be buying the whole set again since I'm not a fan of the toner but I am willing to repurchase the Collagen with Emu Oil Cream and the Glutathione Lotion. :)

If you want to know more about this set, please click here to read Ms. Eloisa Co's post about her own skin care line.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

To be honest with you, I didn't know that Burt's Bees has a very wider range of products in the market. I always thought they only have lip balms and hand moisturizers so I was really surprised (and embarrassed) when I saw their other products which are, by the way, all natural!

Burt's Bees first ever product is their very famous lip balm and as what they say, that tiny tin can made an entire company. Oh, and did you know that Burt, that old man that you have probably seen on some of the brand's packaging, is a real man? And yes, he's still alive! Burt Shavitz, 79 years old, recently hailed as "the world's most famous retired beekeeper by the New York Times. Despite of Burt's Bees success and his fame, he still managed to keep his hippie and humble lifestyle.

Watch this trailer to know more about the amazing and bearded Mr. Burt Shavitz. :)

Last August 13, 2014, Burt's Bees celebrated their 30th anniversary and it was such a pleasure to be invited and be a part of that gathering with my fellow beauty bloggers and of course, the people behind Burt's Bees Philippines. I was actually almost an hour late because I had to go to school before attending the event so when I got there, Ms. Liz Lanuzo of Project Vanity was already starting the cool watercolor painting workshop.

It was super fun learning all about watercolor painting. I've never painted before but I enjoyed so much since I also have an artistic side. Too bad I wasn't able to capture some of Ms. Liz's works because I was too busy painting and following her. Hihi! We were given painting materials so we could also do what she's teaching us.

Super proud of my color wheel! Haha!

I thought those were just made up of different art materials thrown together but they were actually made up of some of the natural ingredients that Burt's Bees use on their product

That super yummy healthy dish! Salmon and pasta!

With Burt's Bees General Manager, Ms. Maritess Dagdag and my forever favorite seatmate, Ate Tina! :)

I will surely share to you soon some of Burt's Bees products that I am so excited to try like their Garden Tomato Toner and Orange Essence Facial Cleanser.

Happy 30th Birthday, Burt's Bees! Wishing you more years of success! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Product Review: Myra VitaGlow BB Cream

BB Creams everywhere! It seems like almost all of the skin care and cosmetic brands are already coming up with their own BB creams. Myra, a well-known skin care and health brand, also released one called the VitaGlow BB Cream. I was able to try out their BB cream when I got a gift from the company which even came with a customized brush set.

When I learned about Myra VitaGlow BB Cream, it reminded me of their tinted moisturizer. I'm not sure if they still have it though but I remember that it has a thick consistency, sheer coverage, dewy finish, and micro illuminating particles. I tried out the Myra VitaGlow BB Cream and it was almost the same as their tinted moisturizer. The only difference is that the BB cream has a thin consistency and the coverage is sheerer. They even have the same scent.

According to Myra:

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream is the perfect product for modern girls on the go who need to look gorgeous in a flash. This radiance-boosting tube is packed with multi-benefits for your skin that allow you to combine the prettifying power of skincare and makeup:

It’s moisturizing. This lightweight cream hydrates your skin to keep it soft and supple.

It contains Vitamin E. This helps nourish your skin even more, so your complexion appears younger-looking and healthy.

It doubles as foundation. The tinted formula comes in two shades: Ivory and Beige, to help you even out your skin tone perfectly and hide pigmentation.

It contains skin-enhancing minerals. Staying late at the office? Use this unique BB cream to add a natural, glowing finish to your skin! You’ll love how the subtle, light-reflecting shimmers in this cream will make you look like you’ve got a lit-from-within glow.

You can use it as concealer. Just pat an extra layer of Myra VitaGlow BB Cream to camouflage dark spots and blemishes.

It also has sunscreen. The SPF15 in this easy to bring tube will protect you from harmful UV rays that causes premature aging.

It’s hypoallergenic. Girls with sensitive skin don’t need to worry about breakouts, because this dermatologist-tested cream is proven safe for daily use.

It's the most affordable! There's no need to hesitate when it comes to purchasing this product, since you can score instant glowing skin for only P99 a tube. Such a great beauty steal!

Yes, I agree that it is moisturizing and I love that it has Vitamin E, skin-enhancing minerals, and sunscreen but can't agree that it can double as foundation and can be used as a concealer. The coverage is just not enough. In fact, it has little to no coverage at all.

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream has two shades, Ivory (lightest) which has yellow undertone and Beige (darkest) which has olive undertone.

The consistency of this BB Cream is actually like a moisturizer. When blended, the color disappears and it gets absorbed by the skin. So, for someone who has blemishes, acne marks, and other imperfections on the face, this won't help cover those up because it's too sheer. If you want extra hydration though and want a luminous skin, you can use this as a makeup base.

There's another downside to this product, by the way. It's not okay for people with oily skin. One day when I went to school, I used it as my makeup base then used a concealer to cover up my imperfections. I didn't use any cream or liquid foundation but I used a powder foundation to set everything and a translucent powder to keep oiliness at bay because I have oily-combination skin.

I didn't retouch the whole time I was out and I was gone for 5 hours and when I got back home, I checked myself in the mirror and I was surprised to see a very oily face.

My mascara also smudged under my eyes. So after that day, I decided not to use it as a makeup base anymore. I sometimes use it though to mix with my other foundations to neutralize the shade or if I want a luminous skin effect.

Based on the road test that I did, I bet you've already guessed. I'm not impressed with this BB Cream at all. I am actually frustrated because I love how the skin can benefit from it considering all its nutrients and Vitamin and sun protection. But hey! If you have normal to dry skin, maybe it might work on you.

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream costs P99.00 and is available in Watsons and all leading drugstore, grocery stores, and department stores nationwide.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Beauty Blossoms in Manila with PIXY!

On August 6, 2014, PIXY cosmetics was launched here in the Philippines. Pixy have already made its way to Japan, Indonesia, and Malaysia before they came here in our beautiful country. The launching of Pixy was held at White Space Manila with a very beautiful Cherry Blossoms theme!

What is PIXY?
PIXY is a Japanese-formulated and Indonesian-manufactured make-up line which flatters skin tones, while infusing the same light-reflecting, skin-perfecting properties, making Japanese cosmetics high in demand. It is developed by Japanese technology with natural ingredients from Japan with a quality standard which caters to the Asian skin.

Before the event started, the guests were given the chance to roam around first to take photos and explore the PIXY cosmetics.

Look at that! It's like you're really in Japan at a park under Cherry Blossoms trees! :)

Oh, hello there! :)

The event was hosted by TV personality, Ms. Patty Laurel-Filart. Yes! It's VJ Patty! She is so gorgeous, by the way.

Pixy is under Mandom Philippines Corporation, a member of the Mandom Group of Japan which imports and markets cosmetics and toiletries products.

"Mandom is excited to bring Pixy here to the Philippines because we believe our purpose is to contribute to the beautiful, healthy, and pleasant living. Filipinas have an innate happiness and natural beauty. Pixy allows women to enhance this beauty by offering quality products to highlight their Truly Asian Beauty," shares Hiroyuki Mitsuoka, President of Mandom Philippines.

Hiroyuki Mitsuoka, President and CEO of Mandom Corporation

Hirotsugu Ohashi, General Manager, Sales and Marketing Division of Mandom Corporation

Pixy designed 2 exclusive looks directly inspired by the biggest catwalk in the world: the city of Tokyo! The looks are called Tokyo Kawaii and Tokyo Glam which were taught by professional makeup artist, Ms. Xeng Zulueta who's been in the makeup industry for more than 12 years! I absolutely adore her! She was named by The Philippine Daily Inquirer as one of Manila's "creative movers and shakers" under the age of 30 and she is also one of the International Elite Artist in the world.

Ms. Xeng demonstrating the Tokyo Kawaii look

Here's Ms. Xeng doing the Tokyo glam look.

Too bad I wasn't able to take a closer photo of the two beautiful models after the makeup demo but I learned so much from Ms. Xeng. The products she used were all from Pixy and I can't wait to try this two looks using the newly launched cosmetic brand, too!

Thank you, PIXY Cosmetics and Mandom Corporation! I am so excited to try out these Kawaii cosmetics. I haven't tried any of them yet but I heard the two-way powders and mascara are great. Have you tried them already? :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)
