Product Review and Swatch: Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks

Many Filipina love sporting that natural and simple makeup looks. They usually choose light-colored or natural-looking lippies especially for everyday looks. If that's the case, nude shades are always the best way to go. However, some ladies are hesitant to wear nude lippies because they worry that it might not complement their skin tone. Well, if you're looking for a nude lipstick that won't wash you out or make you look pale, you might want to try the Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks by Color Sensational

Product Name: Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipstick
Price: Php299
Available at: Maybelline counters (Watsons, Department Stores)

I want to commend Maybelline for coming up with this lipstick collection which carries rosy shades that are perfect for the Filipina skin tone. We rarely see the perfect nude lip color here in the Philippines that would really suit our skin color. These Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks are all nude colors with rose undertone and I'm sure you're going to love all of it!

The Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipstick is available in 5 different beautiful nude shades --- Natural Beige, Soft Pink, Rosy Peach, Apricot Beige, and Salmon Pink. As usual, Maybelline brings us lipsticks with good color payoff. However, some of the shades, especially the lighter ones, can accentuate dry skin on the lips so I suggest you use a lip balm prior application.

Natural Beige

Soft Pink

Rosy Peach

Salmon Pink

Although they are claimed to be matte lipsticks, the finish is actually just semi-matte. But, what's good about it is that it is not drying on the lips and is actually hydrating and light-weight.

The Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipstick fades easily. Actually, with just one wipe, you may get rid of the color already. So, you may have to keep on retouching when you decide to wear it especially after eating and drinking.

I love that the Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks complement any Filipina skin tones and the shades are absolutely beautiful. And the good thing about nude lipsticks is that you can play around with it to complete a natural and/or trendy makeup looks. It glides on very smoothly on the lips and I like that it is hydrating. It may not have a long-lasting formula but for its price, I think it's an okay lippie. This is perfect for everyday makeup looks and probably great for beginners or for the kikay students out there. :)

By the way, I did a makeup tutorial for Filipina Skin Tone in my YouTube channel featuring these lippies. You might want to watch it. :)
