Easy Everyday Smokey Eyes

Hi everyone! How's your Summer so far? I'm actually starting to enjoy it! I've been to two different resorts already with my Family and my boyfriend's family! Loving all the bonding and I had so much fun since it's been so long since I last took a swim! However, I'm still hating the weather here in the Philippines. It's just too darn hot! >.<

I was just planning to leave for the weekend (April 13-14) but my short vacation was extended so I've had a 5-day social media sites detox! The internet connection at our house in Tagaytay was poor so I didn't get the chance to do any updates or post anything here in my blog. However, before I left, I uploaded a quick and easy everyday smokey eyes video tutorial in my YouTube channel that you can finish within 5 minutes or maybe even less! Here's the look:

I paired the look with a brick shimmer blush and a peachy nude lip color. The brick blush gave me that bronzed look so this look in general is also perfect this Summer. Just be sure to use a primer and set your makeup with a makeup setting spray to ensure the longevity of your makeup since the weather here in the Philippines right now is insanely hot. I really can't stand it! >.<

Since the eye makeup is composed of brown shades, you can pair it with any lip color that you like. I just chose to use a nude lipstick this time since I thought I've been using a lot of loud lip colors these past months.

Here's the complete list of products:

FACE

Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Golden Beige + San San Soleil Matte Foundation

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am feeling perky! Haha! That's because I am still happy for winning Kimpossibly Gorgeous' First Year Anniversary Week 1 Giveaway! Kim, the girl behind Kimpossibly Gorgeous is a great writer. You'll never get bored in reading her blogs because the aura is always happy and positive. Plus, her blog and photos are very colorful and she's very creative. Visit her blog if you haven't yet!

Kimpossibly Gorgeous had turned one last month so Kim decided to host a 4-week giveaway and I am the luck week 1 winner! Yay! I am so happy! I received my prizes last week. That was a cool scenario, by the way. I just got home from school and I was so exhausted from all the school works earlier that day that I got annoyed at so many things even if it's just a very shallow thing. You can probably imagine how tired I was that day! Anyway, as I was about to enter the toilet to change and freshen up, I saw a package on top of the cupboard inside my parents' room. I was intrigued by it since I'm usually the only one who receives packages at home. I picked it up and read it and it was addressed to me! I already knew that that package was from Kimpossibly Gorgeous!

I was shreeking the whole time! My mood totally changed as in like it was overhauled! Like I'm a bipolar. Hahaha! Nobody even told me that I received a package. Maybe they forgot about it. Anyway, I opened the package and thought the package was wrapped in a very Kimpossibly Gorgeous way!

LOOK!!!

I posted this on Instagram right away! (BTW, follow me --- bingcastro89) :D

Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint in HOT PINK

Hi everyone!

I was really supposed to go to bed but I can't help it! I want to blogggggg! I haven't slept for more than 24 hours. I went to school early in the morning to get enrolled and I finished at around 3pm! The line was insanely long! Then at 6pm I did my sister-in-law's cousin's makeup for their Reunion/Halloween party (wait for my blog about that) and now it looks like I'm the one who's attending a Halloween party because of my very dark and big eyebags! After this, I swear I'll go to sleep. I just want to share with you the Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint in Hot Pink.

I wore this today at school and I super love it! I thought the color would be really as pigmented as it looks outside but it's actually a bit sheer so it turned out to be a very pretty, wearable pink lip color. It's actually great for daytime looks!

I wore minimal makeup today at school because it's appropriate and I know I'd just look super wasted at the middle of the day but I wore a long-wearing foundation that I can trust and that is the Revlon ColorStay Whipped foundation. It stayed on my face the whole day! From 8am to 9pm today! If you haven't read my review about the Revlon ColorStay Whipped foundation yet, please click here.

I also want to commend the Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint in Hot Pink because it also stayed on my lips for long hours. I applied it at 8am before I left the house and at around 2pm before I left school, the color was still there. Of course it sheered out already but only a little. The color was still noticeable. It's a shame I didn't take a photo of before and after because it's impossible to take photos like that when you're standing on a line at school!

Here's how the lip paint looks like after application. It doesn't look like a real hot pink color because it's a little sheer. That's the problem with these Miners Matte Factor lip paints --- the colors are sheer. It looks matte but believe me, it doesn't really feel matte at all. My lips still felt soft and supple although the dry skin kinda showed off a little as you can see in the photo.

I would definitely continue wearing this for school and for daytime looks. It's awesome. Even after eating crackers and drinking juice, the color still remained the same. However, when I ate rice for lunch, the color on the middle part of my lips faded out and it looked like I had lined my lips with a pink lip liner because the color on the edges was still noticeable. But mind you, that was already 3pm. AWESOME!

If you're interested to try out these lippie, you can get them from Lipstick Avenue for only PhP300.00!

Bye now! It's time to go to bed. Goodnight!

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Miners Matte Effect Lipstick and Matte Factor Lip Paints

Hi everyone!

I have always been eyeing the Miners Cosmetics lippies, especially their matte factor lip paints because they look really promising. Finally, I have already tried out and I have seen in person how great these products are.

Lipstick Avenue sent me three Miners Cosmetics lip products --- Matte Effect Lipstick and two Matte Factor Lip Paints. I love the shades that she sent me! Very wearable and gorgeous colors. I love that she gave me a color that's great for everyday makeup looks and a bold, wearable color. I have the Matte Effect lipstick in Fiesta and Matte Factor Lip Paints in Deep Red and Peach.

Let's start with the Matte Effect Lipstick.

The Miners Matte Effect Lipstick in Fiesta is a very bright, barbie pink color but totally wearable. Other lip shades that I could compare to this are NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Dolly Pink and Wet N Wild Megalast lipstick in Dollhouse Pink. One thing that I love about it is that even though it's a light color, it is very pigmented. Actually, one swipe is enough for you to see its true color.

I just find it weird that this lipstick doesn't feel or even look matte. It should have a matte effect right? But no. It's really creamy and moisturizing. In fact, it is almost liquid-y, it's like melting on your lips. Some might be disappointed to know this but honestly, I like it like that. It dries semi-matte naman eh. :-) But I think maybe it's just this particular shade because after receiving and trying out this lipstick, I searched it online and the other shades look matte in picture.

I love this Miners Matte Effect lipstick. I'm actually planning to try out other 3 shades. By the way, the Miners Matte Effect lipstick is only available in 4 shades --- Fiesta, Vixen, Wonderland, and Barely Buff. Click here to see the other colors. I wish they have more shades available. They don't even have a real red shade. :-( The shade Vixen, I guess, is their closest red shade. Based on www.minerscosmetics.co.uk, it is a deep and vampish berry hue.

Thanks to Sheena of Lipstick Avenue for letting me try the Miners Matte Effect lipstick. I found out about it only through her. I haven't seen this in any blog reviews, videos, etc. If I knew about this lipstick even before Sheena sent this to me, I might have brought my own because it's awesome. Even the packaging looks really decent and I love that the color of the lipstick is shown at the bottom of the tube like most lipsticks. :-)

Okay, so let's now move on to the Matte Factor Lip Paints.

Now, these lip paints are really popular so I already know about these. I have been wanting to try out these lip paints because I wanted to compare it to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams which are also famous. At first, I was thinking maybe it would also dry out my lips like how the NYX SMLC do whenever I use it. To my surprise, the Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint does not dry out my lips. The texture is thin and when you apply it on your lips, it dries up quickly but it will not dry out your lips. Got it? My lips still feels soft and supple even after applying it and even after hours pass. I kept on saying in my video that it's moisturizing. Just to be clear, it's not really "that" moisturizing like a lip balm or lip treatment. What I meant to say was that it is gentle on your lips. Most matte lipsticks / lip creams tend to dry out your lips but this one will not. When I tried it on, I was a bit disappointed with the color pay-off because it is not that pigmented. You need to apply a few layers to really show the color. At least, the color is buildable. When it comes to texture, I like the Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint better but when it comes to pigmentation, NYX SMLC takes the crown.

The day after I received these lip paints, I road tested it when I went to visit the mall. I used the Matte Factor Lip Paint in Deep Red. I wanted to see how long will the color stay on my lips and it was not bad at all. The color stayed on my lips for about 5 hours even after eating and drinking. I love Deep Red so much because for one, I love Red. Another is that the color is not too in-your-face. It looks like my lips is just stained with blood (gallons of blood at that). This color is perfect this coming Holidays and this season.

The other shade that I got is Peach. I was kind of disappointed with this shade because I thought it is going to be really pigmented but when I tried it out, I found the color really sheer. But then afterwards, I began to fall in love with it because it's like you have a very healthy-looking lips with this one on. This color is perfect for everyday looks and for school makeup looks because it's light and sheer.

The Miners Matte Factor has a doe-foot applicator as well like the NYX SMLC and Xtreme Lip Cream so it is also perfect for precise application.
