Product Review: Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara (I'M BACK!)

Grabe!

I didn't realize that it's been 5 months since I last posted an entry here in my blog. I don't know what to say. LIFE HAPPENED and I won't bore you with the details since I am here to share a product review with you, guys, and I am planning to tell you all about what happened in a separate post.

So, let's get down to business. Yes, it's been 5 months since I was MIA and it's also been that long since I last played with makeup and explored different products. Recently, I'm trying my best to check out new beauty products in the market so I'll have something new to share with you when I finally come back in blogging and vlogging. So, here you go!

When you stopped doing glam and beauty makeup for a while, it could be hard to get back so as of now, I'm just sticking with the basics. I rarely go out with foundation, concealer, or any base makeup at all. My go-to beauty products are sunblock, eyebrow pencil, and lip and cheek tints. On days when I want to look more presentable, I apply concealer, a touch of bronzer, and I sweep on some mascara just enough to open up my peepers. And when it comes to mascaras, Maybelline is one of my favorite brands. Then recently, they released their new mascara called Maybelline Total Temptation and boy! I am, yet again, impressed with the brand.

Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, Powder, and Concealer (photos and video)

Hey, guys! Sharing with you my review on the Maybelline Fit Me line! I've already filmed a first impression review and demo videos a few months back and I just thought of sharing it with you here in my blog.

The Maybelline Fit Me line consists of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder, and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation stick. So, I have already reviewed everything except the stick foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me is Now in the Philippines (with SHADE GUIDE)

After the L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, another famous and well-loved foundation has finally made its way here in the Philippines! The much awaited Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is here at last! Well, not just the foundation but the whole Maybelline Fit Me franchise is now available in our country.

Most of the time, Filipinas are offered only about four foundation shades to choose from, which makes it a real challenge to find their perfect shade. As Fit Me comes in 10 shades to choose from, Filipinas can finally easily find their FIT. What is even more exciting is that the Fit Me line that we’re bringing in here offers a MATTE + PORELESS finish, which is suitable for the Filipina skin.” says Bianca Sing, Jr. Product Manager for Maybelline.

Fit Me is available in 4 different formats - the FitMe! Matte+Poreless Liquid Foundation, the FitMe! Foundation Stick, the FitMe! Pressed Powder, and the FitMe! Concealer. All of these are said to be perfect for oily skin.

Product Review and Swatch: Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks

Many Filipina love sporting that natural and simple makeup looks. They usually choose light-colored or natural-looking lippies especially for everyday looks. If that's the case, nude shades are always the best way to go. However, some ladies are hesitant to wear nude lippies because they worry that it might not complement their skin tone. Well, if you're looking for a nude lipstick that won't wash you out or make you look pale, you might want to try the Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks by Color Sensational

Maybelline Lip Gradation Review with Complete Swatches

Maybelline has many lines from their lip section. They offer a lot of various lippies with different formulas but out of all those lines, the Maybelline Lip Gradation is probably my favorite (so far)! I like this line because it is totally different from their other lippies and because the concept is interesting. This product caters to achieving that ombre or graded lips effect.

Quick, Easy, and Simple Eye Makeup To Complete Your Look!

I admit, I am not really a good model of punctuality especially in school. As a working student and a nocturnal, I always stay up late and sometimes (if not most of the times), I wake up late so I have less time to prepare. Since I have experienced that countless times already, I have found ways and mastered how to do a quick and easy look perfect for any daytime occasions.

Usually, a little concealer, powder, eyebrow mascara, mascara, and lip stain are my life savers! BUT sometimes, if I have lesser time to prepare, powder, eyebrow mascara, and mascara are my best companions. However, there are times when a particular occasion requires you to be more made up. Since we don't always have the time to glam up fully, I have an easy solution for that --- SIMPLE EYE MAKEUP! It's amazing how a simple eye makeup can change your whole look. Here's a 1-minute eye makeup look that always saves my not-so-punctual arse! ;)

The UltiMatte Face Off Challenge: Maybelline White SuperFresh Review

Maybelline has always been one of my favorites when it comes to affordable but good-quality powders. I've been using their powders ever since I started exploring the makeup world. I personally love their Clear Smooth All-in-One pressed powder and their BB Silk Poreless White powder (you can click here if you want to read my review about the BB Silk Powder). But now, I have a new favorite! As a person who lives in a tropical country, I commend Maybelline for developing the White SuperFresh Powder Foundation!

#FirstImpressionMatters - Nail That Job Interview!

First impression never lasts. That's actually true. A person may think of you as someone who is sloppy or snooty when they meet you for the first time but that impression may change if that person later gets to know you better.

However, this first-impression-never-lasts thing doesn't apply in all situations. In some cases, first impressions matter. For instance, if you're going to apply for a job, it's important that you make a great first impression to the boss because let's face it, they won't wait for later to really get to know you and decide whether they are going to hire you or not. You need to impress them right away to make sure you're getting that position.

I am here to share with you some tips on how to nail that interview and get that position! :)

1. DON'T BE TARDY - Tardiness shows you're not professional. How can they trust you with other office works if they can't trust you with the time? So, be sure to get up early and be there earlier than the scheduled time. It's better to be early than to be late!

2. BE CONFIDENT - I think this is what we all should have first than anything else. If you show you're weak and scared, the bosses are going to immediately see that in you and I'm sure they will lose interest in you. So, be confident and show them that you're ready to do the job you're applying for.

3. BE YOURSELF - Some people try way too hard just to get in. There's nothing wrong in doing everything you can to get that job but if you're already showing to them someone who is not really you, then it might affect the whole process. You might show less and you might also show and say more. I remember when I applied as an English teacher. I am usually nervous (who doesn't feel that) during job interviews but that day, I decided to show them who I really am. I tried to manage my stress. I am someone who is bubbly and always laughing and smiling and I think that personality of mine helped me get the job. They needed someone who is friendly since we're going to teach Korean children. :)

4. DON'T LIE - Do not tell them lies just to get that position. Like, adding more achievements in your resume that you didn't really achieve. Remember, the truth will always come out. If you tell them things that are beyond your capability and they expect a lot from you, how are you going to live up to that expectations later?

5. DRESS PROPERLY - Remember, first impression matters in applying for a job. You should dress to impress but be sure to match your outfit to the occasion. Be sure you don't overdress and you won't be under dressed. Pick an outfit that is suited for the job and shows professionalism. It counts, I tell you!

6. LOOK YOUR BEST - This is somewhat related to dressing properly. Employees represent the company that they're in. So, most companies look for people with pleasing personality and can properly and confidently present themselves. However, like overdressing and under dressing, your makeup should be appropriate for your job!

Simple, polished, and fresh makeup look is my best bet for work and job application. It looks simple but presentable and it helps you to look more lively. Here is a makeup look that I created which is perfect to make a great first impression.

It is always important to have the perfect canvass. When it comes to office makeup, light and natural makeup looks are great. You don't want to pile on layers and layers of foundation on your face. You need something light but will make you look fresh and flawless.

In this look, I used the Maybelline 8-in-1 BB Stick. It can help cover up minor flaws on your face and since I have oily-combination skin, this BB stick is perfect since it has a powdery finish and it is really created for people with oily skin.

If you have normal skin or dry skin, don't worry because Maybelline 8-in-1 BB Cream is also available in two other formulas!

Here's a simple makeup tutorial if want to achieve that simple and polished makeup look that I did suited for a job interview.

I hope that this simple tips and makeup tutorial can somehow help you in your job interview to make a perfect first impression! Remember to just be you, be confident, and present yourself properly because #firstimpressionmatters!

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Mini Watsons Haul!

Hello!!!

After school yesterday, I dropped by at SM North Edsa because Papa asked me to pay our SKY Cable/Broadband bills. E andun na lang din naman ako, bakit hindi pa ako tumingin-tingin sa Department Store, 'di ba? Hehe! Also, I realized I don't have wet tissues anymore, which I can't live without, and a conditioner for my hair (nagdadahilan pa, sus!).

You know what sucks when you're inside the department store at the beauty section? You can't just ignore all the makeups! Whenever I'm there, I can't, ever, just pass by the makeup counters and not check out their stuff. The good thing here is, I can resist myself from buying. I just love looking at them. Hehe! Anyway, as I was looking at different cosmetics, it reminded me that I am planning to do the 1,000 Pesos Makeup Challenge which I am really excited about! I already have a lot of local and affordable makeups from my own collection but I still needed a few to complete my stash for the new challenge.

Here are the things that I bought:

1. Syoss Moisture Intensive Care Conditioner (P48.00/100ml)
- I was a little surprised when I saw that this conditioner only costs P48.00! I thought it's going to cost more than that and I always thought Syoss products are expensive like Tresemme. Since it's just my first time to try Syoss, I just got the 100ml bottle so that I won't regret buying it if ever I won't end up liking it. It has pro-cellium keratin though so I'm hoping it will be a good product.

2. Baby First Baby Wipes (P84.00/Buy 1 Take 1)
- This is one of my favorite wet tissues because the tissues itself is not that easy to tear. Also, you can get this at a buy 1 take 1 deal for only P99.00 and each pack contains 60 sheets. Yesterday, I'm one happy (and shallow) kid because this pack only costs P84.00! Hurrah for great deals and discounts! :)

3. Maybelline Clear Smooth All-in-One Shine-free Foundation To Go (P99.00)
- THIS IS AWESOME! I love Maybelline powders and I was so happy that they came up with a smaller compact complete with built-in mirror inside and a sponge! Yey! Definitely perfect for my 1,000 Pesos makeup challenge! :)

4. Ever Bilena Pro Eyecolor Mascara/Eyeliner (P160.00)
- Awesome dual-ended mascara and eyeliner! I bought this for the challenge but of course, I did not buy it without checking it first. I swatched the eyeliner and it's actually pretty good and the mascara wand looks interesting. I just hope the formula is good, too. I mainly bought this for the eyeliner and the mascara is just a bonus for me since I'm planning to use falsies on the makeup challenge. :)

5. Ever Bilena Advance Perfect Eyebrow in Medium Brown (P50.00)
- When it comes to affordable and good quality brow pencils, Ever Bilena is my go-to brand. I'm still not sure though if this is the brow pencil that I'll use for the challenge but I like its consistency, so, we'll just see!

6. M&Co. Office Eyelash Curler (P99.00)
- When I saw this from the M&Co. counter, I immediately checked its price and tried it on to see if it can decently curl my eyelashes. It actually works great and it's only for P99.00 so you can include this on your 1,000 Pesos makeup challenge! Sadly, it did not reach my budget. It's okay! It's still a good lash curler and very affordable!

That's it! Now I'm going to finish gathering all the things that I'll be needing for the makeup challenge! Whoo! Wish me luck! ;)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Product Review: Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Poreless White Cake Powder

My favorite products from Maybelline are their powders because they always have good coverage, stay on for long hours (not that long though), affordable and you have easy access since Maybelline is locally available. I've loved their Clear Smooth Shine-Free Face Powder and their Clear Smooth Extra Shine-Free Powder Foundation which has better coverage since it's already a foundation. BUT my favorite Maybelline powder would have to be their Clear Smooth All-in-One Shine-Free Cake Powder because it comes with a sponge (which I love), good coverage, controls oiliness of my skin and it's available in refills which only costs P149.75, roughly P150.00!

It's been quite a while since I last used a powder from Maybelline because I decided to try powders from other brands. But last March when I saw this new powder from Maybelline, I did not even think twice, I quickly bought one for myself because I was really intrigued with the product and it is just beautifully packaged which, I think, would really attract most girls!

Product Name: MAYBELLINE BB SILK CAKE POWDER
Shade: Nude Beige
Price: P329.00
Bought from: SM North Edsa Beauty Section

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder comes in a reflective, purple compact which I absolutely adore! I think what separates this the most from the old Maybelline powders is its packaging. It's much more attractive and the sponge that comes with it has a separate compartment which is more hygienic than the older ones. Another plus factor regarding its packaging is that it comes with a wider mirror which can actually fit my whole face when I look at it. Hahaha!

Upon opening the compact, you'll find the mirror and the powder itself.

When you flip up the powder, you'll find the sponge compartment, pretty much like the other compact powder foundations. The sponge is very useful, I love it!

You'll find holes at the bottom of the compact which allows the air to circulate.

You've probably read above that this powder is more expensive than their older compact powders. Maybe it's because they took the packaging up a notch but is it just because of the packaging? Or is it because it has better quality?

Actually, other than the cutesy packaging, what made me buy this is its purpose. It claims to give you a poreless and brighter skin and controls oiliness for hours.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder contains Korean Mulberry Root Extract which is known in lightening and brightening up the skin while inhibiting melanin production. The powder is infused with BB Silk Essence which makes the skin smoother. It is noncomedogenic and it also has SPF 21 PA+++ which protects your skin from the harmful UV rays. Other than that, Maybelline claims that this powder won't settle or highlight your pores --- that's why it's called poreless white. It claims that it will instantly give you a poreless-looking, brighter and more radiant skin.

The shade that I picked is Nude Beige. I was actually choosing between Nude Beige and Honey but I thought the former is the perfect shade for me so I chose it. It turns out that it's actually lighter than my skin color. I should've just stuck with the shade Honey since that has been my shade from their older powders. Looking at the powders, I thought that the shade Honey from this BB Silk powder line is a little darker than my skin color. Anyway, it's still okay! Like the older Maybelline powders, this new one is also available in 4 shades only. I wish they would expand their range of shades.

The Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Powder has a silky texture which I love. It has a smooth coverage and doesn't accentuate my pores and the fine lines under my eyes. Awesome! So yeah, it's true that it makes your pores less visible. However, after a few hours, the coverage is not as smooth anymore as when you freshly applied it on your face. It keeps the oiliness at bay for a few hours but not really for 12 hours. Hmmm, I can say that its staying power is comparable to the Clear Smooth All-in-One Cake Powder. Don't get me wrong, it has a great oil and shine control but no, it doesn't last for 12 hours. I have oily-combination skin and after about 4 hours, my t-zone area would get shiny already, not super oily though.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Powder is a two-way powder so you can apply it wet or dry.

PRODUCT TEST!

Picture No. 1: BARE FACE

Picture No. 2: With light coverage of foundation set with Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder. From afar, it's like I don't have pores at all! LOL! It lessened the visibility of the fine lines under my eyes. However. when you look closely, of course you will already see my pores.

Picture No. 3: With full makeup on. Love how it made my skin look poreless and flawless!

Picture No. 4: Zoomed in. Smooth coverage but like what I've mentioned in picture no. 2, you can still see my pores when you take a closer look.

Overall, I absolutely love this powder! Though I think I have to settle for the shade Honey next time so that it will match my skin color perfectly. It's true that it will lessen the appearance of your pores but I'd have to disagree with its claim that it stays on for 12 hours. Will I recommend it? YES! Even though it doesn't last up to 12 hours, it has an impressive oil and shine control, noncomedogenic, has SPF and gives a smooth and poreless coverage.

Repurchase? ABSOLUTELY! :) It's now my new favorite Maybelline powder and one of my favorite compact powders of all time!

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Recent Hauls and Favorites (March - April 2013)

I can't believe that it's the last month of Summer vacation already! I haven't really felt yet that it's vacation and just a few more weeks, I'll be going back to school again. Jeeeez! >.<

Anyway! The thumbnail that you see above is a video about my recent hauls and favorites, including products from March to April. That's why the video is quite long because I showed a lot of items. For you to see a closer look of the products that I featured in the video, here is the list with photos:

HAUL:

1. Brown Gladiator Sandals, size 43 (P699.75 / Parisian Plus, SM North Edsa)
     - Love matching this pair with casual looks, bohemian outfits and with my maxi dresses.

2. Black Studded Loafers, size 43 (P699.75 / Parisian Plus, SM North Edsa)
     - Very comfortable on the feet! This is my favorite everyday/casual footwear. And the studs just give an additional oomph, don't you think? ;-)

3. White Wedges, size 11 (P1,500.00 / Payless Shoe Source, SM North Annex)
     - I'm not really used to wearing this kind of shoes, pumps, stilettos and the likes because I'm already tall and I'm not comfortable at all when I wear high heels. I only use this for special occasions and for church. :)

4. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner (P89.75 /Watsons)
     - Repurchased for the 5th time! I just love this toner that much! Click here to read my review about it.

5. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Soap (P65.00, 60g / Watsons)
     - One of the best soaps I've tried. I recently wrote a first impression post about it. Click here to read the article. Reviewing it thoroughly soon!

6. Nanny Rose's Gugo and Lawat Anti-hairfall Shampoo (P185.00 / Watsons)
     - It works! It controls my hairfall problem and the best thing is that, it has a cooling effect! Haha! Review soon! :)

7. MoNDES Professional Ionic Keratin Hair Treatment (P109.00 / Watsons)
     - My current shampoo, which is the Nanny Rose's Gugo and Lawat Anti-hairfall shampoo really makes my hair dry so I terribly need a conditioner or hair treatment to condition my hair and to make it soft and smooth. I bought this because it contains keratin which helps make your hair healthy (also your skin and nails). This particular product is good, it makes my hair soft and smooth but I think it's comparable to other hair treatments out there.

Prizes from winning Beekyote's blog giveaway:

8. Wet N Wild Mega Eye Creme Liner
9. Wet N Wild ColorIcon Palette in Silent Treatment
10. Wet N Wild Megalast Matte Lipstick in Smokin' Hot Pink

     - Review of these WnW products soon! :) Thank you so much for these awesome additions to my makeup collection, Bee! :)

11. Sample pot of Prom Night - purple matte eyeshadow from their newest collection
12. Sample pot of Sphink - light yellow shimmer eyeshadow from their newest collection
13. Sample pot of Forest - green matte eyeshadow from their newest collection
( Read my post about VOM's newest collection here.)
14. VOM Eyeshadow in Crescent Moon (P150.00)
     - a beautiful iridescent shade perfect for highlighting!
15. VOM Eyeshadow in Jirbie (P150.00)
     - blue shimmer eyeshadow with gold flexes, love this so much!
16. VOM Eyeshadow in Chameleon (P150.00)
     - a duochromatic eyeshadow --- looks like a rust shimmer eyeshadow with blue flexes! Probably one of my most favorites out of all the VOM eyeshadows! Click here to watch my makeup tutorial using this eyeshadow.
17. VOM Eyeshadow in Blue Eyeliner (P150.00)
     - a very opaque electric blue shade!

18. VOM Short Shader Brush from their new 2013 Brush Set Limited Edition
19. VOM Sculpting Brush from their new 2013 Brush Set Limited Edition

     - Cruelty-free and vegan brushes! Review soon! The sculpting brush is awesome! :)

FAVORITES:

1. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion (P129.75 / Watsons)
     - Moringa-O2 must be an awesome brand! Haha! All of their products are included in this post. Well, yes, I love all of their products. This lotion is my current favorite lotion because it has a quick absorption formula and non-greasy, too so it's perfect for the very hot and humid weather of the Philippines right now!

2. Glory of New York First Base Foundation Primer
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)
     - When you apply it, you'll be surprised because it seems super oily but as you spread and rub it onto your skin, it will eventually be absorbed by your skin and will dry completely, leaving you with minimized pores and a smooth canvass for your makeup!

3. Glory of New York Skin Enzyme Peel
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)
     - I've said it a hundred times and I'l say it again, this is the product that helped me achieve an almost poreless and flawless skin! Watch the demo video here to see how it works!

4. Fashion 21 Roll'n Dazzle in Pink Diamond (P85.00 / Watsons)
    - Yes it's an eyeshadow but I use it as a highlighter and in fact, it's the best highlighter I've tried so far! I just love the glow it gives on my face! :) Review here.

5. Maybelline BB Silk Poreless White Cake Powder in Nude Beige (P329.00 / Watsons)
     - Has a flawless finish and medium coverage. It's my go-to powder nowadays. I just think that I picked the wrong shade because it looks a little light on me, but still, it's okay! :) Review soon!

6. Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara (P225.00 / Landmark, Trinoma)
    - Another affordable but awesome find! It does a great job in lengthening and separating my eyelashes and it doesn't transfer so it's two thumbs up for me! Review the soonest! :)

7.  Nature Republic Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow in No. 3 (P170.00 / Nature Republic, The Block)
 - My original roots are growing back and I'm back in using darker shades of brow pencils/powders. I find myself always reaching for this eyebrow pencil whenever I do my makeup maybe because it's convenient to use since it comes with a spoolie already and the lead of the pencil is flat and slanted, making it easier for you to shape your brows. Also, you won't be needing a brow powder to set it anymore. It has a good staying power, too! I have a demo video for this one, click here.

8. Chanel Rouge Allure in 95 Enjouee (pasalubong from a friend)
     - Perfect for everyday looks because it's simple but the color is so beautiful. It's a pinky coral shade. I always get compliments whenever I wear this. I'm in love with it and the packaging is interesting, don't you think? Oooh you don't know about its packaging yet? Click here to see why it's interesting (at least for me)!

9. Glory of New York Lipstick in no. 30

     - I've bee loving coral hues lately, especially when it comes to lip products. One of my favorite lippies lately, aside from Chanel Rough Allure in 95 is this lipstick from Glory of New York in the shade 30. It's a darker shade of coral though, almost like a red-orange color. I love it! The color screams SUMMER!

Phew! That's a lot of products! Well, that's it for my recent hauls and favorites! What are the products that you're currently loving! Share them, too! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)
