Fresh Face Makeup

Hi everyone!

I've been receiving a lot of requests for a fresh or natural makeup look that can be worn at school or at work. So, for my first makeup tutorial for 2014, I decided to grant this highly requested look.

This is very quick and easy to do. I didn't use a liquid foundation but I used a powder foundation. Powder foundations are great to use when you want to take a break from wearing heavy makeup and you want to let your skin breathe for a while. I highly recommend the Ellana Mineral Loose Mineral Powder Foundation because it's very lightweight yet it has a smooth finish and medium coverage, enough to cover minor imperfections and the redness of your skin. It stays on for long hours, too. Click here if you want to get your own. :)

I presented two different lip colors so you'll have a choice. If you're going to wear this makeup look for work, you can wear a nude/skin tone lipstick and add a nude or mauve lip gloss on top.

If you're going to wear this look for school and you want to go for a more natural look, you can just use a lip stain to add color on your lips so you'll not look pale.

To get this fresh face makeup look, watch the video tutorial here:

Hair Makeover by Introspect Hair Salon and Make-Up Studio

My February 2014 started with a great change! Last February 1, a few beauty bloggers were invited over at the newest branch of Introspect Hair Salon and Make-Up Studio at Fisher Mall in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. Fisher Mall is also a newly established mall that's why it's still a little bare but I personally like that mall. I will surely go back there, also because of the fact that Introspect is there! :)

Introspect Hair Salon and Make-Up Studio Fisher Mall branch opened just last January 28 (if I'm not mistaken). The salon is quite small but the facilities were complete. There's the washing area, vanity mirrors and they even have a small makeup room. I forgot to take photos of the place because we were busy having our hair makeovers and it's pretty crowded as well because of the clients that day.

I was greeted by Ms. Cai de Leon (professional makeup artist) and she was really friendly and convivial. Thanks, Ms. Cai! I was a little late so when I arrived, my fellow beauty bloggers were already having their tresses done! Hihi!

Aside from our awesome hair makeovers, there was also an ambush makeup challenge hosted by Ms. Cai and sponsored by Make-up Designory (MUD) Manila and Pulped Juicing Company. We weren't advised that there would be a makeup challenge so it was really an ambush makeup challenge! We have to remove our makeup which was crazy and funny because we got there really glammed up! Teena (angkikayko) and Joyce (candyloveart) even had falsies on! Hahaha!

Anyway, since the hairstylists and staffs were busy doing their hair and other clients' hair and I was just waiting there drinking my calamansi juice offered by the salon, I decided to start doing my makeup for the challenge. All of the makeups we're going to use are from MUD. Teena and I were the first ones to do our makeup looks. It didn't matter who goes first anyway since we will be judged by our final looks and YOU people will decide who will win because you will vote for your favorite looks/beauty bloggers by liking our photos posted on Introspect Hair Salon and Make-up Studio's Facebook Page. Click here to vote!

Continuing on with the story, I came at the salon looking like this...

...then I removed my makeup for the challenge...

...and then here's my final makeup look!

Our peg, by the way, was Ms. World 2014, Megan Young on the cover of Mega magazine January 2014 issue. :) She's got this sultry smokey eyes and nude lips so that's what we tried to recreate.

After doing my makeup, the other beauty bloggers were already done with their hair makeovers so it's my time for my hair to get done and it's their time to do their makeup for the challenge. For my hair, I don't really want to completely change my hair color because I'm still loving it. However, it's starting to get a little rusty or brass-y already so they refreshed the color of my hair for it to have a cooler tone. They used Davines on my hair which is a milk-based and ammonia-free quality coloring product. Then I really, really wanted to have full bangs and I was so happy that Sir Romar Morillo, senior hair expert of Introspect, made it possible! I have really thin and fine hair so it's a little difficult for me to sport full bangs but I was really happy that I achieved it with Sir Romar's magic hands! :)

What do you think? I love my new hairstyle, really! But I still prefer my hairstyle without the bangs. I think it gave me an edgier look but it's not something that I would sport forever. Paminsan-minsan lang pag trip ko ng bangs. Hihi! As of now, yes, I'm really enjoying and loving my hairstyle and my hair color! Thank you so much again, Sir Romar! :)

I had so much fun and I'm really thankful for my awesome hair makeover! Thanks to Introspect Hair Salon and Make-Up Studio once again, to all the staffs, to Ms. Cai de Leon and her husband! Everyone was so congenial and the services are definitely high-end and the hairstylists are really experts.

My Maria Mercedes Inspired Makeup Look

Late post!

Hi everyone! How's it going? I just learned that the Maria Mercedes teleserye had ended last week and it reminded me that I haven't blogged about yet my Maria Mercedes Inspired Makeup Look which I did last December 2013. Short story behind my Maria Mercedes Inspired Look: I received the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless from Glorified Makeup and I thought that the shade of that lippie is close to Jessy Mendiola's lip color in the Maria Mercedes poster. So, that's it. Hahaha! Anyway, here's the look:

I should have bought a red rose, don't you think? :)

I used my Hard Candy In The Shadow Eye Shadow Collection in Temptations from Suzanne's Emporium. The shades are perfect!

Here's the complete list of products I used to achieve my Jessy Mendiola inspired makeup look:

- MUA Matte Perfect Primer
- Glory of New York Total Cover Up Concealer
- Avon Ideal Luminous Invisible Coverage Foundation
- Maybelline BB Silk Cake Powder (for highlight)
- Fashion 21 Two Way Powder with Milk Moisturizers No. 2
- Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in No. 2
- Avon Eyeshadow Duet in Maize (bronze)
- Hard Candy In The Shadow Eye Shadow Collection in Temptations
- Fashion 21 Single Eyeshadow in No. 5
- K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner in black
