Product Review: Mistine Magic Secret and Dream Lip Tints

Hi everyone!

I just want to share with you these two new lip stains that I got. Lip stains are your best bets if you want a pop of color on your lips without the heavy feeling like what a lipstick gives and that sticky goopiness of a lip gloss

I have tried different lip stains already and I love using them especially for school or for everyday looks because it looks natural and I love the just-bitten effect it gives on my lips. Since lip tints just adds stains your lips, it won't add moisture so if you have dry lips, you also have to bring a separate lip balm with you. Well, these lip stains from Mistine are very convenient to use and it's just the perfect combination! They are dual ended where the other end is the stain and the other end is a lip balm.

I have the Mistine Magic Secret and Mistine Dream Lip and Tint. Let me show you the Magic Secret, first. Mistine Magic Secret has a berry-like shade that gives a natural just-bitten look on the lips.

The Mistine Dream Lip Tint has a red orange shade. I love using this when I want a louder lip color for everyday looks or for school days. I actually like this better than the Magic Secret because I'm more into a bold lip color than natural shades.

Both of these lip stains have a fruity scent. Their balms are also surprisingly moisturizing and it won't erase the tint even when you glide it on your stained lips. These Mistine lip tints stay on for long hours as well even after eating and drinking. Here's the usual photo test:

Freshly applied lip stains

This is how it looks like when they're already dry.

After rubbing with my fingers.

After rubbing it with water

As you can see, even with rubbing it with water, the stain is still there especially the Mistine Dream Lip Tint. Awesome, isn't it? That's why I can't get enough of these two. I also love applying this on my cheeks for that healthy, natural-looking flushed cheeks.

The only thing that I don't like about the Mistine Lip Tints is that they dry up really fast so you have to blend it quickly on your cheeks, otherwise, it will leave you with a very unpleasant stain on your cheeks. It's like you have rashes on your cheeks or something. Haha! Also, since it dries up fast, it might be difficult to remove if went outside the edge of your lips while applying it.

Overall, I love these lip stains. The tints are pigmented and the stain stays on for hours plus the balms are really moisturizing. Also, they are very affordable for only P250.00 from The Mestiza Hub!

New App: 2Sides2Me + GIVEAWAY

One of the jobs of a beauty blogger is to review different beauty products like foundation, powder, lipsticks, and as well as skin care items. It is very significant to provide before and after photos of using a certain product to support our testimonials. We merge the before photo to the after photo so that the viewers or readers can easily see the difference. Of course, editing photos takes a little time so when I heard about this new app, the very first thing that came to mind is that this will be very helpful in presenting photo results.

2Sides2Me is a new photo app for taking two different selfies and uploading it in one post. (Hello, selfie lords! Haha).  According to their website, 2Sides2Me allows fashionistas and beauty addicts to express their own uniqueness, using pictures in a totally brand new way!

2Sides2Me is available for both iPhone and Android users. All you have to do to use it is to download the app and register. You can even login with your Facebook account, that's actually how I registered.

How does it works?
Simply upload two selfies to show two sides of you. Once it's already posted, the photo you will see is the first one that you've selected. To see the second photo, hold down on the screen and it will reveal the second or the alternate photo. Take a look on my very first post.

When you hold down the screen, you will see the after-photo.

Pretty cool, huh? As a user/follower, you can like a friend's post and even leave comments. It kinda reminds me of Instagram. See that "up arrow" on the photos above, when you click that, you will see the menu options. There is an option where you can see your profile and even edit it and add info about yourself.

Geez, I only have 4 followers. I hope you'll try to use this new cool app and follow me, pretty please? Hahaha! Oh, before I forgot,  2Sides2Me is having a giveaway!

All you have to do to qualify is to simply download the app (It's free!), register, upload your best before and after picture and hashtag #beforeafterpics. That's it and you'll already have a chance to win MAC's Angel Lipstick and Gloss! Wowza!

Overall, I think this new app is pretty awesome. Definitely a big help for beauty bloggers and even for people out there who want to ask opinions about something like their dresses and makeup looks or really, any 2 things that you want to share with everybody! :)

Product Review: ELF Moisturizing Lipstick

There are a lot of ELF cosmetics that I want to try but aren't available yet here in the Philippines or worst, they won't be available here ever. Thank God for those online shops that import authentic ELF cosmetics  and other makeup brands here in our country.

One of the ELF cosmetics that I really wanted to try are their Moisturizing Lipsticks from their Studio Line. I have tried one of ELF's lipsticks, the one in the silver packaging, but I did not like it. It's a good thing that The Primp Pad, an online shop here in the Philippines, sells the new ELF Moisturizing Lipsticks. Well, they're not really that new but I believe this is ELF's latest lipstick line.

When you say "moisturizing lipstick", of course, people expect it to be really moisturizing. Sadly, there are some lipsticks in the market that claim to be moisturizing but they are actually not. The ELF Moisturizing Lipstick? I'm really glad that it is true to its name.

Product Name: ELF Moisturizing Lipstick
Price: P168 from The Primp Pad
Available Shades: 10

PACKAGING
- The ELF Moisturizing Lipstick comes in a simple black tube casing. On the middle part, you'll see the color of the lipstick shade which I just have to commend because it shows the exact color of the lipstick. Some lipsticks out there have this kind of packaging that shows the color of the lipstick on the outside but when you swatch them, they're not the exact shade.

What I don't like about the packaging is that when you twist up the lipstick, it feels very flimsy like the lipstick bullet is going to separate from the tube when you drop it once. Also, since the lipstick is a little creamy, it slants everytime I use it so just a piece of advice, BE CAREFUL.

SHADE AND PIGMENTATION/COVERAGE
- Like what's written on the product info above, there are 10 available shades for the ELF Moisturizing Lipsticks so, that's good. They have nude shades to pinks to oranges to red. When it comes to pigmentation, it has a good color payoff because with just one swipe, you will already see the actual color. The shades that I got are Pink Minx, Wink Pink, and Rosy-Go-Round.

1. PINK MINX
- A nude pink shade. It's a light shade so it might look a little blotchy on the lips.

2. WINK PINK
- A natural pink shade which almost looks like mauve. Perfect for everyday/natural makeup looks.

3. ROSY-GO-ROUND
- A beautiful pink color which is perfect for any occasion and will look good on any skin tone. This is my favorite among the three.

CONSISTENCY / TEXTURE
- As what I have mentioned earlier in this post, the ELF Moisturizing Lipstick is true to its name because it is really moisturizing. It glides on smoothly like a lip balm, feels like a lip balm, and moisturizes like a lip balm. It has a creamy texture that almost melts when you apply it.

LONGEVITY
- They don't fade out that easily but they aren't that long lasting either.

Watch my Review Video here:

Overall, I love the ELF Moisturizing Lipsticks! I actually want to collect all the shades though it's not really necessary. Hehe! These lipsticks are great for everyday wear. Of course, you can use them on other occasions too but you have to bring it with you because for sure, you'll have to retouch after a few hours especially when you're going to eat out or have a drink.

ELF Moisturizing Lipsticks are available on The Primp Pad for only P168.00. I'm not sure if they're available in malls already but the products from the ELF Studio line cost P249.75 each at ELF counters/stalls.
