Review and Swatches: Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy

It's always so exciting to discover new products especially when they are good finds and worth the money and worth the try! One of the best things in being in a beauty community is that you discover new products almost all the time. One of the recent skin care and cosmetic brands that I've learned about is Sooper Beaute when they sent me a message on Instagram. I immediately checked out their products and they quickly caught my attention! The packaging is so colorful, girly, chic, and cute and they have a lot of products to offer from skin care to makeup!

I got the chance to try some of their best-sellers but let's talk first about their famous So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapies.

The Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapies are from their makeup line called So Matte where all the products are lippies. These particular lippies are lip creams and they are also 2-in-1 products because you can use them on your lips and on your cheeks, hence the name Lip and Cheek Therapies.

Product Name: Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy
Price: Php380
Available at: (online) Sooper Beaute and SM North Edsa

The Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy comes in a tube with a doe-foot applicator.

There are a total of 4 shades --- Astra, Polaris, Aquarius, and Zodiac. Catchy names, huh?

It has a creamy texture but it dries up matte. However, it may take a few minutes before it completely dries. What I like about the texture is even though it has a matte finish, it feels lightweight on the lips and doesn't feel tight and dry. If you're wondering about the scent, they smell like vanilla!

I tried the shade Zodiac on my cheeks. You can use your fingers or your brush to blend out the product. Since it doesn't dry that fast, there's no problem in applying and blending it on your cheeks. The Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy is very pigmented so use just a tiny amount and gradually build up the color according to your preference. Be very careful in applying it especially when you're using the darker shades.

Here's what the shade Zodiac looks like on my cheeks:

I love it because it gave me that natural-looking, healthy glow on my face. It just added life on my face and doesn't look like I have blush on my cheeks. Once blended on the cheeks using either your fingers or brush, it immediately sets on your face. Since we only need a tiny amount on the cheeks, it dries up faster than it does on the lips.

I like it as a cheek color because it looks natural, doesn't feel like you have something on your cheeks, and stays on for long hours especially when you set it with a powder.

Now, here are the complete swatches of the Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapies on my lips:

Let me divide the shades into two:

1. Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy in Astra
- natural/nude

2. Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy in Polaris
- neutral pink

The shades Astra and Polaris are the two lightest shades. Both are perfect for everyday and day time makeup looks. If you want more color on your lips though, you can go for the shade Polaris because it has a hint of pink instead of Astra which is nude and looks more natural on the lips.

3. Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy in Aquarius
- hot pink

4. Sooper Beaute So Matte Lip and Cheek Therapy in Zodiac
- red orange

Now, if you want to sport bolder lip color, you can choose either the shade Aquarius or Zodiac. Both of these shades are so vibrant and add a little spice on your whole look. You can also use them for day time but just go light on your eye makeup.

I love how opaque these lippies are! Regardless if it's a light or darker shade, the color pay off is outstanding. The good news is that they stay on for long hours on the lips even after eating. Of course it will eventually fade but minimally. Here are a few photos from my road test to prove my testimonial:

Freshly applied on the lips

After 3 hours and after eating cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon :D

After a total of 5 hours without re-applying

For a lightweight lip product, the longevity is already commendable. It stays on for 5-6 hours on the lips without retouching and even after eating and drinking. Yes, it eventually fades but the color is still there.

I even tried to swatch it on the back of my hand then rubbed alcohol on them after they dried up! It's so awesome because they barely faded and got smudged.

Freshly applied (not yet dry)

After rubbing with alcohol (with heavy pressure)

After road testing the product a few times and after that alcohol test, I now officially became a super fan of the Sooper Beaute Lip and Cheek Therapies! Outstanding opacity, lightweight texture, matte finish (I love matte so that's a plus factor for me), and impressive longevity. If you'll ask me about the cons about this lippie, it's probably the price. It's not that expensive but for its size, the price may seem steep for some. But the quality is really great so I think it is still worth the try! Oh, it may also be cool to see more shades of these lip and cheek therapies. I'd love to see purples and reds! :)

Don't forget to visit Sooper Beaute on Facebook and on Instagram @sooperbeaute for more of their products and updates. I hope this review helps!
