Product Review: Yver Rocher Sebo Vegetal Line

Hello everyone! It's been months since I last blogged and even filmed a video for my YouTube channel. Being a 3rd year college student is tough. I've been so busy with tons and tons of school papers and activities but I promised myself that after this semester ends, I will, with all my heart, post here in my blog and film videos as many as I can. So, here I go! :)

A lot of people with oily skin usually send me messages regarding products that they can use for their skin type. I would like to share with you the Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal line. This line is specifically designed for combination to oily skin.  I have given this set a try for months already so let me share with you my thoughts about it.

Product: Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Line
Price: (please refer below)
Available at: Yves Rocher stores

Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal here in the Philippines comes in 4 products --- the purifying cleansing gel, purifying micellar water 2-in-1, pore minimizing serum, and the zero blemish gel cream. However, if you're going to research about it, there are a couple of other items from this line such as the purifying scrub and the purity mask. I'm not sure though if those products that I've mentioned are already available here in the Philippines because the last time that I checked, there are only 4 sebo vegetal products that you can find at the Yves Rocher stores.

This skin care line by Yves Rocher has a botanical-based ingredient called the baikal powder. This ingredient is extracted from the roots of a plant called Scutellaria from China. The baikal powder is used for its powerful rebalancing properties. The Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal line claims to give you a purified and mattified skin by following a 3-step beauty routine: 1) cleanse, 2) tone, and 3) hydrate.

1. Cleanse with Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Purifying Cleansing Gel (P495 / 150ml tube)

This purifying cleansing gel claims to rid pores of impurities without drying out the skin and give a non-greasy texture. I agree with its non-greasy texture because after washing my face with this, I can feel that my skin is matte but without the dry feeling that we sometimes get from other facial cleansers designed for oily skin. What I like about this is that it has a matte finish but you can still feel that your skin is soft and smooth and it gives you a refreshing feeling. I love the scent, too!

Ingredients: aqua/water/eau, methylpropanediol, centaurea cyanus flower water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, acrylates/C10 - 30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, phenoxyethanol, peg-30 glyceryl stearate, xanthan gum, fragrance, tetrasodium edta, sodium hydroxide, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.

2. Tone with Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Purifying Micellar Water 2-in-1 (P495 / 200ml bottle)

This toner claims to perfectly remove makeup and tone skin. It is a good toner, it eliminates excess sebum from the skin and it is very mild as well. However, it slightly gives a sticky feeling so I usually just apply this during my night time routine or when I'm not going to put on makeup because it may feel a little uncomfortable. You can apply this on your face and eyes to completely remove dirt and makeup.

Ingredients: aqua/water/eau, methylpropanediol, centaurea cyanus flower water, butylene glycol, peg-40 glyceryl cocoate, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, sodium coceth sulfate, oleth-20, parfum/fragrance, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, caprylyl glycol, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium edta, citric acid, potassium sorbate.

3. Hydrate with:

Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Pore Minimizing Serum (P1195 / 30ml pump bottle)

This serum is the most expensive among all the products from the sebo vegetal line. It absorbs excess sebum and unclogs and minimizes pores. When you apply it on your skin, you will feel that your skin is getting tighter so that means that it's already minimizing your pores. It has a very matte finish and like the purifying cleansing gel, it won't give you that dry feeling on your skin. I advice that once you put it on your skin, be sure to immediately spread it all over your face since it dries up quickly. I love using this at night only. This is, by far, the best skin serum that I have ever tried. I love it!

Ingredients: aqua/water/eau, glycerin, alcohol, silica, dimethicone, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, zea mays (corn) starch, malic acid, centaurea cyanus flower water, zinc gluconate, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, sodium hydroxide, salicylic acid, parfum/fragrance, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid.

Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Zero Blemish Gel Cream (P795 / 50ml jar)

The Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Zero Blemish Cream is probably my favorite out of all the 4 products from this line. It has a matte finish that is perfect for my skin type which is combination but it doesn't give me a dry feeling on my skin. It also absorbs excess sebum and minimizes the pores. With its texture and finish, you are surely shine-free for long hours.

This gel cream has a texture that is almost the same as a body butter's but just a bit thicker. It's easy to spread out as well. Just be sure to properly blend it and apply it on your skin because it might mix with your makeup (if you're going to apply makeup) which can result to a cakey look.

Ingredients: aqua/water/eau, glycerin, methylpropanediol, alcohol, zea mays (corn) starch, silica, dimethicone, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, glyceryl stearate se, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, salicylic acid, parfum/fragrance, glyceryl stearate, xanthan gum, zinc gluconate, potassium hydroxide, tocopheryl acetate, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, tocopherol.

I would definitely recommend this to people with oily-combination skin. If you have normal-dry skin, this may not be the best products for you as they all have a very matte finish. The Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal line is great but I don't think I would be repurchasing the whole set the next time. I would repurchase the serum and the zero blemish gel cream but I don't think I would be repurchasing the cleansing gel and the toner. While they both have good qualities, I think I can find better cleansers and toners which are more affordable and perfect for my preference.

Yves Rocher also offers other skin care lines such as their Pure System, Hydra Vegetal, and Active Sensitive  lines.
