QUICK Product Review: Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion

Product Name: Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion
Price: P129.75
Bought from: SM Department Store, Beauty Section / Watsons

The Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion is the second product that I've tried from the brand. After trying out and falling in love with their Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner, I thought that this lotion might just be a good product, too. And like the toner, this lotion also has olive oil and sunflower oil.

Aside from the awesome benefits of malunggay or moringa, what really made me buy this is its quick absorption formula. I hate sticky and thick lotions because it just makes me sweat like crazy and I know that we all hate that greasy feeling!

The Benefits of Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion:

- Deeply nourishes and moisturizes dry skin
- Smoothens and softens dry, scaly skin
- Stimulates cell regeneration and skin renewal
- Improves skin elasticity, suppleness
- Helps slow down signs of aging
- May help relieve itch
- Skin lightening
- UVA and UVB protection
- Quick absorption and non-greasy

It's true that this lotion is non-greasy and is easily absorbed by the skin. It dries up fast and is not too slippery nor creamy unlike other lotions. It is actually almost like water when rubbed against the skin but even though it has that thin consistency, it is really moisturizing. One thing though that I've noticed is that the moisture doesn't last for long. For example, if I used it in the morning, before the evening comes, I can already feel some parts of my body a little dry but it's still okay.

Oh, and did I mention that the scent is divine? I love its green tea scent that is almost the same as the famous Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Perfume! Talk about smelling sophisticated and classy! I really love the scent but I just wish that it would linger for long hours. Also, I'd like to point out that it's affordable but I think some may think it's a little pricey for its size because the bottle only contains 125ml of the product. But with all its benefits, I understand why it costs just a little more than the other commercial lotions.

Overall, I love the Moringa O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion! It has good benefits for your skin, it has UVA/UVB protection, it's non-greasy and has quick absorption formula, it smells so good and it's affordable plus it's not that big or bulky so you can bring this with you anywhere you go.

Repurchase? Heck yeah!
Recommend? Sure! It's perfect for the hot weather here in the Philippines.

Try it, it's good!

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Recent Hauls and Favorites (March - April 2013)

I can't believe that it's the last month of Summer vacation already! I haven't really felt yet that it's vacation and just a few more weeks, I'll be going back to school again. Jeeeez! >.<

Anyway! The thumbnail that you see above is a video about my recent hauls and favorites, including products from March to April. That's why the video is quite long because I showed a lot of items. For you to see a closer look of the products that I featured in the video, here is the list with photos:

HAUL:

1. Brown Gladiator Sandals, size 43 (P699.75 / Parisian Plus, SM North Edsa)
     - Love matching this pair with casual looks, bohemian outfits and with my maxi dresses.

2. Black Studded Loafers, size 43 (P699.75 / Parisian Plus, SM North Edsa)
     - Very comfortable on the feet! This is my favorite everyday/casual footwear. And the studs just give an additional oomph, don't you think? ;-)

3. White Wedges, size 11 (P1,500.00 / Payless Shoe Source, SM North Annex)
     - I'm not really used to wearing this kind of shoes, pumps, stilettos and the likes because I'm already tall and I'm not comfortable at all when I wear high heels. I only use this for special occasions and for church. :)

4. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner (P89.75 /Watsons)
     - Repurchased for the 5th time! I just love this toner that much! Click here to read my review about it.

5. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Soap (P65.00, 60g / Watsons)
     - One of the best soaps I've tried. I recently wrote a first impression post about it. Click here to read the article. Reviewing it thoroughly soon!

6. Nanny Rose's Gugo and Lawat Anti-hairfall Shampoo (P185.00 / Watsons)
     - It works! It controls my hairfall problem and the best thing is that, it has a cooling effect! Haha! Review soon! :)

7. MoNDES Professional Ionic Keratin Hair Treatment (P109.00 / Watsons)
     - My current shampoo, which is the Nanny Rose's Gugo and Lawat Anti-hairfall shampoo really makes my hair dry so I terribly need a conditioner or hair treatment to condition my hair and to make it soft and smooth. I bought this because it contains keratin which helps make your hair healthy (also your skin and nails). This particular product is good, it makes my hair soft and smooth but I think it's comparable to other hair treatments out there.

Prizes from winning Beekyote's blog giveaway:

8. Wet N Wild Mega Eye Creme Liner
9. Wet N Wild ColorIcon Palette in Silent Treatment
10. Wet N Wild Megalast Matte Lipstick in Smokin' Hot Pink

     - Review of these WnW products soon! :) Thank you so much for these awesome additions to my makeup collection, Bee! :)

11. Sample pot of Prom Night - purple matte eyeshadow from their newest collection
12. Sample pot of Sphink - light yellow shimmer eyeshadow from their newest collection
13. Sample pot of Forest - green matte eyeshadow from their newest collection

14. VOM Eyeshadow in Crescent Moon (P150.00)
     - a beautiful iridescent shade perfect for highlighting!
15. VOM Eyeshadow in Jirbie (P150.00)
     - blue shimmer eyeshadow with gold flexes, love this so much!
16. VOM Eyeshadow in Chameleon (P150.00)
     - a duochromatic eyeshadow --- looks like a rust shimmer eyeshadow with blue flexes! Probably one of my most favorites out of all the VOM eyeshadows! Click here to watch my makeup tutorial using this eyeshadow.
17. VOM Eyeshadow in Blue Eyeliner (P150.00)
     - a very opaque electric blue shade!

18. VOM Short Shader Brush from their new 2013 Brush Set Limited Edition
19. VOM Sculpting Brush from their new 2013 Brush Set Limited Edition

     - Cruelty-free and vegan brushes! Review soon! The sculpting brush is awesome! :)

FAVORITES:

1. Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion (P129.75 / Watsons)
     - Moringa-O2 must be an awesome brand! Haha! All of their products are included in this post. Well, yes, I love all of their products. This lotion is my current favorite lotion because it has a quick absorption formula and non-greasy, too so it's perfect for the very hot and humid weather of the Philippines right now!

2. Glory of New York First Base Foundation Primer
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)
     - When you apply it, you'll be surprised because it seems super oily but as you spread and rub it onto your skin, it will eventually be absorbed by your skin and will dry completely, leaving you with minimized pores and a smooth canvass for your makeup!

3. Glory of New York Skin Enzyme Peel
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)
     - I've said it a hundred times and I'l say it again, this is the product that helped me achieve an almost poreless and flawless skin! Watch the demo video here to see how it works!

4. Fashion 21 Roll'n Dazzle in Pink Diamond (P85.00 / Watsons)
    - Yes it's an eyeshadow but I use it as a highlighter and in fact, it's the best highlighter I've tried so far! I just love the glow it gives on my face! :) Review here.

5. Maybelline BB Silk Poreless White Cake Powder in Nude Beige (P329.00 / Watsons)
     - Has a flawless finish and medium coverage. It's my go-to powder nowadays. I just think that I picked the wrong shade because it looks a little light on me, but still, it's okay! :) Review soon!

6. Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara (P225.00 / Landmark, Trinoma)
    - Another affordable but awesome find! It does a great job in lengthening and separating my eyelashes and it doesn't transfer so it's two thumbs up for me! Review the soonest! :)

7.  Nature Republic Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow in No. 3 (P170.00 / Nature Republic, The Block)
 - My original roots are growing back and I'm back in using darker shades of brow pencils/powders. I find myself always reaching for this eyebrow pencil whenever I do my makeup maybe because it's convenient to use since it comes with a spoolie already and the lead of the pencil is flat and slanted, making it easier for you to shape your brows. Also, you won't be needing a brow powder to set it anymore. It has a good staying power, too! I have a demo video for this one, click here.

8. Chanel Rouge Allure in 95 Enjouee (pasalubong from a friend)
     - Perfect for everyday looks because it's simple but the color is so beautiful. It's a pinky coral shade. I always get compliments whenever I wear this. I'm in love with it and the packaging is interesting, don't you think? Oooh you don't know about its packaging yet? Click here to see why it's interesting (at least for me)!

9. Glory of New York Lipstick in no. 30
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)
     - I've bee loving coral hues lately, especially when it comes to lip products. One of my favorite lippies lately, aside from Chanel Rough Allure in 95 is this lipstick from Glory of New York in the shade 30. It's a darker shade of coral though, almost like a red-orange color. I love it! The color screams SUMMER!

Phew! That's a lot of products! Well, that's it for my recent hauls and favorites! What are the products that you're currently loving! Share them, too! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

First Impression: Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Soap

Ever since I've learned about the benefits of malunggay or moringa, I kind of get addicted to the brand Moringa-O2. They only carry three products, Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner, Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion and Malunggay Herbal Soap.

The first product that I've tried from this brand is the Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner which I'm absolutely in love with. It's just the best toner that I've tried (so far) because aside from all of its amazing benefits, it's very kind to my skin. It didn't break me out or make my skin sensitive. In fact, it really helps in making my skin clean, moisturized and firmer. No wonder that it is a multi-awarded beauty product. I raved so much about it here in my blog and you can read it here.

Since the Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner really impressed me, I decided to try out their Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion. I've read in different blogs from top bloggers that this is a great affordable lotion that smells like the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume. And when I finally bought it, I learned that yes, it really smells like that! What a fressssssh scent! :) The scent is just a bonus. What I love about it is that it has quick absorption and non-greasy benefits but it is really moisturizing.

After trying the Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner and Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion and falling in love with them, I decided to try the Malunggay Herbal Soap to see if it's as good as the first two products as well. And also because it's the only product from Moringa-O2 that I haven't tried yet.

I bought the smaller soap (60g) since I want to try it out first if it's good for my skin. It costs P50.00 from Watsons. I just purchased this soap two days ago and it was only last night that I have first tried it. Malunggay Herbal Soap is for the face and body. When I took it out from the box, I smelled it and you know what? It smells like the Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion, too but it actually smells better. I'm in love with its scent! However, the smell doesn't linger for long.

I was a little worried to use it on my face because most bar soaps can be really drying on the skin. The only bar soap that I use on my face is the Kojie San Kojic Acid Soap and yes, I love that product and it's really meant to use for your face and body. However, you'll get this tight and dry feeling after you use it so you really have to moisturize your skin after. Anyway, I only use it when I have acne problems going on on my face and then I cease from using it once my face heals.

Continuing on with the Malunggay Herbal Soap, I washed my face last night using it and it feels gentle on the skin as I rub my face in circular motion. After rinsing off the soap, I felt just a wee bit of tightening but nothing like that dry and harsh feeling that I get from the bar soaps that I've previously tried. I love it! And my face didn't feel like super matte and dry. My skin feels supple.

I've also tried it on my whole body and the effect is just the same. It's not drying and my skin is soft and smooth. BUT I still highly recommend that you apply lotion all over your body to thoroughly moisturize your skin.

So there, that's all I can say about the Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Soap for now. I'll give you an update soon if it really is a good soap for me or if I should get rid of it. But so far, I'm really loving it.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Updated Skin Care Routine (April 2013)

A lot of my subscribers and followers had been asking me what are the products I currently use to take care of my skin. They thought I have a secret behind my almost flawless skin right now. To tell you honestly, I still have breakouts every now and then and a few pimple scars are still noticeable... BUT I have found my skin's new best friends which help in treating pimples in just a matter of days and lightening scars and other blemishes faster.

1. Glory of New York Facial Cleansing
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)

-     A light type of facial cleanser. Texture and formula is almost like a moisturizer or lotion but thinner. It doesn't really lather so it can be a little intimidating at first because you might think it will not thoroughly clean your skin but actually, it will really leave your skin clean, fresh, supple and smooth. However, since it is very light, it is not capable of removing excess makeup from your face. No biggie! I love how it smells! Very elegant and sophisticated and the scent lingers --- in a good way of course! Hmmmm! :)

2. Glory of New York Skin Enzyme Peel
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)

-     I consider this as a miracle product. Haha! It is basically a non-abrasive exfoliant that helps remove dead skin cells from your face. If you know Japan's no. 1 skin care product which is Cure Nature Aqua Gel, it is kind of like that, though I haven't yet used that one. But based on the reviews I've read, they have the same purpose and effect. I'm telling you, Glory of New York Skin Enzyme Peel is the best skin care product I've tried. Everytime I use it, it's like I have a new-born skin. This is what helps me achieve that almost flawless and poreless skin. ;-) Review soon!

(P89.75 at Watsons)

-     The best toner I've tried so far! I'm on my 5th bottle already and it's a strong proof that this toner loves my skin and my skin loves it, too! For toners, I usually change them after consuming 2 to 3 bottles and now that I'm on my 5th bottle, need I say more? I love it! It's light, it's moisturizing, it doesn't break me out, doesn't make my skin oily and it is an anti-aging product!

4. Glory of New York Aloe Vera All Skin Gel
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)

-     It's suitable for all skin type but people with oily skin will benefit more from this product. GNY highly recommends this to people with oily, oily-combination and super oily skin. Because of its gel-type formula, it will keep your skin matte all day. As for me, it really controlled the oiliness of my skin and it's like my skin is matte but hydrated. It's a little cool on the skin since it has aloe vera. It leaves a thin, invisible film on your skin that serves as protection from the harmful Sun rays, exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, etc. This serves as my daytime moisturizer.

The Aloe E Moisturizing Lotion is the counterpart of the Aloe Vera All Skin Gel. It suits people with dry skin best.

5. Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)

-     The first moisturizer I've tried from GNY. I've posted photos of before-and-after of this product in my Facebook page before and you can really see the transformation. My skin became fairer and I have this healthy glow on my skin. I use it only at night because it has a dewy finish but it's not that greasy and it doesn't make my skin oily. Every morning when I wake up, I have this natural glow on my skin that I've never had before! Not kidding! Read more about this here.

6. Glory of New York Heal Cream
(Please visit Queen B. on Facebook for inquiries)

-     I forgot to feature this in my video! From the name itself, this is a cream that heals pimples and other minor skin problems. When I have a pimple that's about to grow, I just apply heal cream on it and the bump will subside a little and the pimple will dry earlier than usual. Say about, 3 to 4 days. Because before, my pimples usually dries for about a week. This can also be applied to rough, dry and scaly skin.

7. MoringaO2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion
(P129.75 at Watsons)

- There are a lot of reasons why I love this lotion. It's moisturizing, has quick absorption and non-greasy formula, it's an anti-aging and anti-oxidant lotion, safe for your skin, has UVA and UVB protection so it's perfect for daytime use, it's affordable, the bottle is not too big so you can bring it anywhere you go and it smells like Elizabeth Arden's famous Green Tea perfume!!! Hmmmm! :)

8. Yoko Knee and Elbow Moisturizing and Whitening Cream
(P179.75 at Watsons)

-     This whitening cream greatly impressed me because it really delivers. It helped lighten my dark scar on my knees and my not-so-fair elbows! My ankles are a little dark too I also have a small dark and rough scar on my right ankles and this Yoko cream really helped lightened it. It didn't fully lighten the dark spots on my body though but it helped big time! Review the soonest!

That's it! For more questions, leave them as a comment below! :) If you also have your own regular skin care essentials, please do share them because I love discovering new products! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Product Rave-iew: Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner

Caring for my skin is one of the most important things in my life. Seriously! Especially since I am a makeup artist, a blogger, and a YouTube guru. It would be weird to teach you about beauty-related stuff and skin care routines if I have a bad skin. It is like a part of my job to take care of my skin and share to everyone the best products to try. I think it is always my obligation to advise people to take good care of their skin. Most of us are afraid to grow old because we don't want to look old! Well, you should start by exercising and taking care of your skin!

Cleanse, tone, and moisturize --- these are the three words you should never forget and you should live by. There are so many great cleansers out there. So many great moisturizers to choose from and so many toners to try --- and I've found one of the bests. In fact, I think it is the best I've tried so far. Ladies (and gentlemen), I present to you, Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner!

Product Name: MORINGA-O2 HERBAL FACIAL TONER
Price: P87.00 - P89.00 (I forgot the exact amount, sorry!)
Bought from: Mercury Drug / SM Hypermarket

Moringa oleifera, Moringa or Malunggay is the main ingredient of this toner. I always thought malunggay is just used for cooking such as an ingredient for tinolang manok (chicken soup). I didn't know that there are a lot of benefits that this plant can give to all of us.

Moringa is also called The Miracle Tree because of its multi-benefits. All of the parts of this tree, from seeds to branches to leaves, have good benefits to one's health. Based on scientific research, malunggay contains 7 times the Vitamin C in oranges, 4 times the Calcium in milk, 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, 2 times the Protein in milk and 3 time the Potassium in bananas. Amazing, isn't it? I think we should all start eating malunggay or moringa in a daily basis! I remember when I was a child, whenever we visit our province, my aunt would always cook Tinolang Manok with malunggay and it always tastes so good! That's actually one of the things I love about malunggay, it doesn't have an unwanted taste unlike other leafy vegetables. If you want to know more benefits of malunggay, click here or simply Google it!

One of the best things about Moringa or Malunggay is that it contains antioxidants. In the native land of India, Moringa is used to improve skin complexion, tone, and radiance. Antioxidants combat skin aging since it revitalizes skin cells. It blocks the free radicals which are deadly substances that damage cells. Free radicals are the culprits for wrinkles and dull-looking skin! Thanks to antioxidants for cleaning the skin cells! It will make us look youthful and radiant. *wink*

Another mineral found in Malunggay leaves is Sulfur which is found in every single cell in the body. Sulfur is used to help treat skin discoloration, acne and other skin diseases. It is what makes up collagen and keratin, two important substances that make up the majority of all skin tissue in your body. Collagen gives skin its flexibility and softness while Keratin gives skin its rigidity and strength. Since Malunggay contains Sulfur, it may help improve the production of Collagen and Keratin in your body resulting in a healthier and more radiant skin.
(Source: www.moringaleaves.net)

With all this said, I bet you now know why I love this Herbal Facial Toner by Moringa-O2. It just offers a lot of good benefits for your skin. Not to mention that it also contains olive oil and omega which are also known to have good skin benefits. They are also used to fight skin aging and help keep your skin moist and maintain its elasticity making you look young, healthy, and vibrant!

Really, I can't think of any reasons why you won't give this toner a try. It's amazing! I am actually on my third bottle right now. Usually, when I use a particular toner, I switch to a new one once I've used it for three months or after I emptied two bottles of it. But I just can't seem to let go of Moringa-O2 Herbal Facial Toner because of its benefits and its effect on my skin. And oh, did I mention that it is a multi-awarded product?

Moringa O2 Herbal Facial Toner is from Ardent, the same manufacturer of Gluta-C. This toner is a green liquid which is very light on the skin. It doesn't give you that tight feeling after application unlike other toners. It is made for dry and sensitive skin so before I wrote this review, I consulted Moringa-O2 first if this is also suitable for people with oily skin. I was actually a little confused at first because it is meant for dry skin but it says that it's an oil-control toner so I thought maybe it's okay to try it even if I have oily-combination skin. Well, I was right! According to Moringa-O2, it helps control the oil on your face, thus helps in fighting pimples. So, if you have an oily skin, don't think that it will worsen your oiliness just because it says it is for dry and sensitive skin. I think it is made for every skin type.

From my three months of experience, this toner didn't make my skin oily at all. Not even once! I thought it's going to make my skin look a little dewy after using it since it is meant for dry skin but to my surprise, it is easily absorbed by the skin so it dries up quickly leaving you with a completely matte skin but not dry. It actually moisturizes my skin and every after use, my skin looks supple --- not dry, not dewy. I'm sure my other skin care products as of the moment also help in making my skin look radiant but this toner is just different from the toners that I've tried in the past.

Here's a before and after photo. I'm not sure if you will notice it but it made my skin in the right photo look healthy and more supple compared to the first photo. The first photo was taken after washing my face and the right photo was taken after applying the Moringa-O2 Herbal Facial Toner.

Here is what Moringa-O2 claims about their herbal facial toner:

Cleansing - gently cleanses residual dirt without drying
Oil Control
Pore Minimizing
Stimulate cell regeneration and skin renewal
Anti-bacterial, Anti-acne - may help reduce pimples
Moisturizing dry skin - deeply nourishes, moisturizes and smoothens dry skin
Improves skin elasticity and suppleness
Skin lightening

I agree to everything Moringa-O2 claims about this toner except for the "skin lightening" part. I haven't noticed if that part works on me. Maybe because I am also using other products that has whitening properties. Anyway, aside from that, all of these are true --- at least for me. We all know that people react to different products. Say this one, it works amazingly on me and it may not work the same for you. Keep that in mind. So, don't bash me if you try this product after reading this then it will not do good on your skin. Hehe!

Like most toners, this really helps remove residual dirt on your skin such as excess makeup which your cleanser or makeup remover did not thoroughly removed. Here's a cotton piece with the Moringa-O2 Herbal Facial Toner:

Here's the cotton piece after I applied it on my face and neck. It removed the excess makeup on my face leaving my skin completely clean. Awesome!

Now you know why I love this toner so much and why I wrote Product Rave-iew in the title line instead of Product Review! This toner is worth raving for! Haha! I did not write this because I'm a fan of Moringa-O2 or Ardent nor I am affiliated with them. This is the first product I've ever tried from the said brand and I bought this bottle, nay, the three bottles of this toner with my own money. I just really love it because it does an amazing job on my skin so it deserves a well-written review! No wonder that it received three beauty awards. ;-)

I definitely recommend this to everyone --- to people with dry skin or people with oily skin! With all its benefits, I will say it again, I can't really see any reasons why you wouldn't give this a try. :) Talk soon!

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)
