Marionnaud Travel Spray

Hi everyone!

Last Tuesday, I found out a product which I guess may be considered as a dupe for the Travalo Refillable Travel Spray Perfume. I was at Watsons SM North Edsa and I saw this Travel Spray by Marionnaud. The usage and the whole look of Marionnaud's Travel Spray is far different from Travalo's but the idea or the concept is quite the same, methinks. Although, I read from Makeup Stash that they found a perfume spray created by Marionnaud similar to Travalo Travel Spray. You can check out Makeup Stash's blog post about that here.

If you are a beauty junkie and watch YT tutorials, read blog posts a lot and love beauty bloggers like I do, then you're probably familiar with Travalo and how is it used and all. Travalo is an easy to use travel-sized atomizer and so is Marionnaud's Travel Spray but it actually requires a bit more work and energy. But what I like about Marionnaud's Travel Spray is that it's way cheaper and it has an easier access. I got it for only PhP 119.00 and Marionnaud is available at any Watsons outlets.

When you purchase a bag of Marionnaud's Travel Spray, you'll get these items. The plastic transparent bag contains the Travel Spray and a very small, handy funnel used for refilling.

The Travel Spray is a glass container encased in a brushed aluminum tubing. The cap is sturdy and tight so it prevents any leakage of the perfume/cologne while it's in your bag or purse.

You'll find the logo of Marionnaud on top of the cap.

To refill the atomizer, take it out from its case and of course, remove the cap or the spray.

Next place, the funnel in the container.

Then of course, get your favorite perfume or any perfume that you want to use.

The funnel will help you refill the bottle without any wastage of the perfume. It will prevent any leakage while you pour the perfume in the bottle since the funnel is filtering it.

And voila! Put the cap back on and put the bottle back to its protective case and you're all set!

Now, I can place my travel spray in my kit along with my beauty products! No need to bring your big, heavy perfume bottle so you'll definitely have more space in your bag. :) I haven't tried the Travalo travel spray yet but I think this one's will be enough. You'll definitely save more money.

Talk soon!

What Happens When Class Ends Early (06192012)

Today at school I endured a 4-hour lecture in my subject Zoology. It was supposed to be a 4-and-a-half-hour subject but since it was our first meeting and we don't have the syllabus yet, the professor discussed about our future projects and why studying Zoology is significant in BS Psychology. Yes, I am currently majoring in Psychology. At first it was okay. I actually admire the professor because even though we don't have a topic to discuss formally yet, she found ways to have a sensible topic to talk about within that 4-hour lecture. Unlike other instructors who just introduce themselves, talk about the computation of grades, give a homework that is usually the history of the certain subject and then just discuss the class super early. I know for other students that's a good thing but come to think of it, it's actually just a waste of time, energy and money for fare.

Anyway, by the middle of the discussion, the whole thing suddenly got so boring and it seemed like our Professor was just talking with the students seated in front of the class. My other classmates were already begging our professor to dismiss us early and just start everything formally on our next meeting. Finally, they convinced her and she dismissed us 30 minutes early. We all went our separate ways. That was my only subject for today so that means I can go home already but I decided to hang out first because I don't want to go home yet since I don't have anything to do in our house anyway. I was supposed to go to the Super 8 which is a big grocery mart but I decided to just visit SM North Edsa because I wanted to watch Rock of Ages!

When I arrived at SMNE, I checked the movie schedules and found out that the first viewing of Rock of Ages is 1:30PM and it was only 11:30AM that time. I decided to just ditch the cinema. I went straight to Pizza Hut because it's almost lunch time and I'm super hungry already and I'm craving for their Pesto Chicken Penne. That's my favorite food to order at Pizza Hut! :)

When I got there, only 4 customers were dining in. I guess they were the first customers because the restaurants and fast foods had just opened. I was really glad because the waiters were very attentive and very friendly. The service was really quick and good, too. I ordered my favorite, Pesto Chicken Penne, Pumpkin Soup with pie crust on top and a bottomless iced tea! :)

While waiting, my assigned waiter gave me free bread sticks along with my 1st glass of iced tea. :)

I did not enjoy the bread sticks though because they were kind of stale. Ugh! Not too long after, my pumpkin soup and pasta were already served! Yay!

My pumpkin soup looks like a mushroom with the pie crust on top! Haha! :D

I poked it and created a hole! Now it looks like a big cream puff! :D

I'm telling ya, this pumpkin soup tastes soooooo delicious! Now I'm craving for it, deym! :)

Tadah! Here is my favorite pasta! The Pesto Chicken Penne! I think it's only available at Pizza Hut BISTRO. This tastes delish! You should try it! It's only PhP 179.00

I finished the soup in just like 5 minutes or less. Hihi! ;-)

I had like 4-5 glasses of iced tea so you could just imagine what my bladder was telling me! Hahaha!

That meal really made my stomach oh so full so I stayed at Pizza Hut Bistro for a while to let my tummy rest. Hahaha! :)

After that, I went to The Skin Food and checked out their Black Sugar Deep Cleansing Cream and BB creams. It still bothers me how pricey their products are. What? For me it's a bit pricey! I'm not wealthy. okay!. ;-)
From there, I went straight to the Department Store at 2nd floor down to Watsons at 1st floor. Of course I checked out different cosmetics to see if there are any new interesting products. I did see a few from ELF but the product that really caught my attention was Maybelline's BB Stick. I think it's not new because I read somewhere that a certain someone was asking for a review of the Maybelline BB stick. Anyway, it's the first time that I saw it so I quickly checked it out and found out that it has salicylic acid and it's recommended for oily to combination skin. That's actually my skin type so I immediately grab one for myself to try out the product.

I got the shade Radiance because it suits my skin color better. There are only two shades available, Fresh and Radiance which is the darker one. Fresh is for fair skin and Radiance is for medium skin so that's what I got. Fresh is just too light for me. I got it for only 249.00!!! Yay! Please wait for my thorough review about the product. I have high expectations for this BB stick!

So, going back to my day today (hehe), I ended up buying three items then I finally took a cab home. :)

These are the things that I bought:

Marionnaud Travel Spray (Please wait for my review about this awesome travel atomizer),
Watsons Moisturizing Foot Lotion in peppermint (which is really relaxing! I tried it on tonight), and
my Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick in Radiance. ^_^

Ooh! Here's my FOTD! I took this photo when I arrived at home. Yep! Pink Alarm for school! :) Just a simple eye liner paired with bold-colored puckers! Mwuaaaah! :)

If you're wondering what I did when I got home, well... I did the laundry! Haha! And yes! I did it while my makeup is still intact. Well, I'm pretending to be a 50's housewife. Hee! ;-)

And that's what happened today! Now I have to write my homework in Elementary Statistics. So, paano? Talk soon! :)

All About Hooded Eyes

People have different types and shapes of eyes. There's hooded eyes, deep-set, protruding, etc. To know what type of eyes do you have, please refer to the photo below.

I have hooded eyes. If you open your eyes and your lids disappear, that means you have hooded eyes as well. Sometimes it's frustrating because whenever I apply my eye makeup, once I open my eyes, it's like I didn't even apply any eye shadows at all! Plus, hooded eyes are more prone to eye makeup boo-boos. There are times when I line my upper lash lines with an eye pencil or cream/gel liner, it always transfers onto the lids. Good thing liquid eyeliners were invented! I used to admire people who have prominent eyes and deep set eyes because closed or opened eyes, you can clearly see their eye makeups and their eyeliners don't transfer onto their lids! Thanks to makeup artistry, there are different discovered eye makeup tricks to deal with your hooded eyes!

The most famous tip that I know based on my research includes a light eyeshadow, a darker eyeshadow for contouring, a highlighter, and a mascara. Eyeliners are optional. When you have hooded eyes apply your light eyeshadow on your moving lids but bring it up a little higher than usual. To have an illusion of deeper crease, contour the crease by applying the darker eyeshadow on the hoods or the skin that covers the lids. If you can't fully understand, please watch my video tutorial for hooded eyes:

Highlighting your brow bones and inner corners of the eyes are also helpful in dealing with hooded eyes. Apply a light eyeshadow or your highlighter on the brow bones and inner corners to brighten up your eyes. This will help your eyes appear larger. If you want to apply an eyeliner for an additional oomph to your eye makeup, line your upper lash lines thinly so that it will not cover the lid area. Lastly, apply loads of mascara and may I just suggest more coats on the outer lashes.

See how I contoured my crease and brought up the eyeshadow on my lids a little higher? This will totally emphasize your lids.

For additional tips, try to maximize the space of your eyes so that you will have more room for eyeshadows! Pluck, shave or use a thread to groom and shape your eyebrows. This will not only give you more eye space but it will definitely brighten up your eyes and frame your face. ;-)

To help really open up your eyes, always focus the darker shades of eyeshadows on the outer corners and bring it up towards the edges of your brows but blur it out as you go up. Do the same on your eyeliner. Make the eyeliner thicker on the outer area like winged lines and always make sure that the line is going up and not down.

You can apply eyeshadow on your lower lids because this can also help your eyes appear bigger. Just remember to apply the darker shade on the outer part and the lighter shade on the inner part.

Here are some photos of mine from my bare face, to a made up face but without dealing with the hooded eyes, to a made up face with an eye makeup for hooded eyes:

BURLESQUE INSPIRED

Hahaha! Hey, at least you now have an idea on how to deal with your frustrating hooded eyes! Hee! :)

Final words:
There are a lot of tips and tricks out for hooded eyes but personally, all I need are my mascara, brown eyeshadow (for contouring the crease), highlighter (to brighten up the eyes), and an eyeliner to tightline my eyes because if you tightline the eyes, you can skip lining the upper lash lines already and it will give an illusion of fuller eyelashes. :)

If you have any suggestions or if you know anything about eye makeups for hooded eyes, please do let me know by leaving a comment below or email me or PM  me because I'm not a guru of this matter. I know I only know some but not all and I just wanted to share with you what I have learned and gathered by researching. :)

PRODUCT REVIEW: Nature Republic Pretty Tree Wood and Auto Eyebrow Pencils

Hi everyone!

I have new favorite eyebrow pencils to share. I have already made a video review about this pencils but I was too busy these past few weeks that's why it is only now that I got to write and talk about them more. I love collecting brow pencils, brow kits and anything that can groom and define eyebrows simply because I love doing my brows. This is already an overused saying but I would still say it, "YOUR BROWS FRAME YOUR FACE".

A few weeks ago, I found new eyebrow pencils from Nature Republic. If you are not familiar with that brand, it is also a Korean brand so when you visit their store, the products that you will find there are pretty much the same with Etude House and Tony Moly. These brands are also known for their cute and eye-catching packaging and Nature Republic also has uber fun and adorable packing. It was only the first time that I've seen Nature Republic's products although I've heard about them before. My sister and I checked out their products and some of them looks really promising but the eyebrow pencils really caught my attention. For one thing, they are green and I don't know if it's just me but I guess it's an unusual color for an eyebrow pencil because most eyebrow pencils are brown, black, or white. I checked out these Pretty Tree eyebrow pencils, swatched the colors and carefully inspected the overall packaging. It looks like a decent eyebrow pencil naman so I decided to purchase them. I bought the Pretty Tree Wood Eyebrow which is like any ordinary pencils that needs sharpening and I also bought the Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow Liner which is retractable. The lighter shade of green is the Pretty Tree Wood Eyebrow pencil.

PRODUCT NAME:
Nature Republic Pretty Tree Wood Eyebrow and Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow

PRICE:  PhP 170.00 (each)

SPOTTED:  The Block, SM North Edsa

These eyebrow pencils remind me of Etude House's eyebrow pencils and Daiso's eyebrow pencils. Maybe because they are dual-ended pencils. The other end is a spoolie which is good since it's very convenient to use. Even if you don't have a separate eyebrow brush, you can still do your  brows with this pencils alone. The Pretty Tree Auto Eyebrow liner really reminds me of the Etude House Drawing Eye Brow because they are both retractable, both are dual-ended, and they both have slanted leads but Etude House Drawing Eye Brow pencil have a wider pencil lead.

I got the shades No. 3 for both but they have completely different shades. Both are brown but the Wood Eyebrow is lighter than the Auto Eyebrow pencil. Also, the retractable one is a wee bit creamier than the Wood eyebrow pencil. So, the difference between these two eyebrow pencils aside from their pencil type, they have different consistencies. They both give natural looking brows, though.

The lighter one is the Wood Eyebrow and the darker one is the Auto Eyebrow liner. The Auto Eyebrow liner has a thicker and creamier texture.

They're not completely different with the other eyebrow pencils out there and I know there are way more cheaper eyebrow pencils than these two but like what I've said, I love doing my brows so I'll keep on collecting eyebrow kits and eyebrow grooming tools until I find the perfect and the best one for me. ;-)
Will I repurchase? Yes! Especially the Wood eyebrow because it is lighter thus it gives a more natural-looking brows.

If ever you want to try out these eyebrow pencils, you can visit Nature Republic at The Block, SM North Edsa, 2nd floor in front of Tender Bob's. I honestly don't know where else you can find Nature Republic.

By the way, here is my video review:
