Product Rave-iew: Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream

I'm known for having a fair complexion and unlike other beach bums who love getting tanned skin, I like keeping the fairness of my complexion. I'm not addicted though in whitening products to keep my skin light but I'd like to keep my natural fair complexion.

Since I go to school and go out often, it's a little difficult to maintain my original skin color due to Sun exposure. That's why I make sure to use skin care products that will not only protect me from the harmful rays of the Sun but products that will also help maintain my fair complexion. Sure, there are a lot of products out there to help me with this issue but only a few works for me.

Other than being fair, I love having this natural and healthy glow on my skin --- without the use of makeup! I mean, who doesn't, right? That's why I'm thankful for this amazing moisturizer from Glory of New York.

Product Name: Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream
Price: Please send a message to Queen B. on Facebook or Glory of New York Philippines

Let me start with the packaging of this product. Packaging of a certain product is important, yes, but how it looks like should not be that big of a deal. If the bottle or the tube is working properly, then that's fine. However, I'd just like to commend Glory of New York for the packaging of all their products. It just looks so classy and elegant. It's simple but sophisticated-looking. Just like this Fairness and Glow Cream. The bottle is sturdy and a little heavy but I just noticed that the caps or covers of the products of Glory of New York are quite flimsy and get loose easily. So, be careful about that.

The cap of the bottle is clear and on top, the word Glory is embossed. It comes with a pump which I like because you can easily dispense the product.

You can remove the pump from the actual bottle so if ever you're going to have a problem with the function of the pump, you can just remove it by twisting it up to dispense the cream.

The cream is like a thin paste that is light yellow in color but it will become completely transparent when blended.

At the back of the bottle, you'll find the direction for use and info about the company but the ingredients are not listed. So, if you're wondering what's the formulation of the Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream, here are the ingredients:

Aloe Barbadensis extract , Arbutin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Gylcerin, Simmondsia Chinensis (JOJOBA) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (SHEA) Butter, Dimethicone, Hyalurinic Acid, Camellia Sinensis (GREEN TEA) Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (WILLOW) Bark Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (LICORIE) Root Extract, Oenothera Biennis (EVENING PRIME ROSE) Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Polyacrylamide, C-13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, 1-Methylhydantoine-2-imide, Ceteryl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Stearic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Diacetyl Boldine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Fragrance

Product description:

Fairness and Glow product is a proven natural skin treatment for Glowing Skin and Fair Complexion. It improves complexion of the skin and adds a healthy glow to the skin. Cleans, softens and smoothens the skin and keeps it fair, young and healthy.

Direction for use:

Wash face thoroughly with warm water. For best results use GLORY FACIAL CLEANSING to clean your face and other areas, because glory facial cleansing opens skin pores and facilitates deeper penetration and absorption of cream. Apply a thin layer of cream over the face and other areas. Gently massage for a couple of minutes and then apply another layer just thick enough to conceal the skin. Leave it on to get it absorbed in the skin.

For long lasting effect : 1. Use with Glory Enzyme Peel to remove dead skin from face and skin 2. Apply the cream anywhere on the body including face, neck and hands. Let the cream get absorbed. First it turns into a thin flaky white layer. This is normal. Give it some time and it will slowly moisten, transparent and form an invisible film that supplies nutrients and curing properties to skin. 3. Use Glory Moisturizer after 30 minutes of absorption of glory fair and glow Cream.

I have followed the directions on how to use this product and I have also tried using it along with facial cleansers from other brands and both ways work great but based on my personal experience, it will definitely work better if you're going to use it with GNY Facial Cleanser. The GNY Enzyme Peel that was mentioned above is basically an exfoliant which I use twice a week. By the way, that Enzyme Peel is another amazing product from GNY and I will do a review about that next!

Going back to the Fairness and Glow Cream, because of the indication that it might create thin flakes and film and because it doesn't have any SPF, I only use this at night before going to bed. It acts as my current night cream. I haven't used it at daytime yet and I haven't tested yet how does it feel and what will happen if I wear makeup on top. Anyway, even if I only use this once a day, I'm still impressed with its effect on my skin. It literally makes my skin glow and makes my skin supple.

I started using this on the first week of February 2013 and in just about a week or two, I have already noticed its effect. Here's a before and after shot:

The two photos on top were actually my before and after shots of my Belo Essentials Night Therapy Cream review. It was my night cream before I started using the GNY Fairness and Glow Cream and it works great on me and I love it, too because of its consistency and its benefits. However, it did not give me that healthy glow that the GNY Fairness and Glow Cream gives my skin. You can clearly see the difference. The photos below were taken after two weeks of using the GNY Fairness and Glow Cream. You can also see that I have a lot of blemishes on the photos above but on the photos below, the blemishes and dark spots were already lightened. I'm not saying though that the Fairness and Glow Cream is the only thing that diminished my dark spots but I can say that it helped in clearing my blemishes.

It may seem dewy in the photos but in person, it doesn't feel greasy once it's absorbed by the skin. On the process of application and a few minutes after application, it might feel a little greasy but just let your skin absorb it and it will dry up, leaving you with a supple and glowing skin. Also, when I woke up the next day, my skin looks brighter and it has this healthy glow that's why I absolutely love this product!

This is how my skin looks like as of the moment. I still have blemishes and pimple scars especially on the brow area because I've had quite a few breakouts on that part of my face. Maybe it's because I've been neglecting the cleanliness of my eyebrow brushes! Silly me! Anyway, if you're going to ignore all of my pimple scars, it's like I have a very flawless and smooth skin! If only you can feel my skin right now, it's really smooth and supple. I have a healthy glow and my face looks a little dewy without makeup on but it's not oily.

Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream is created for normal skin types but I have oily-combination skin and it works great on me and it didn't make my skin extra oily or whatever. I'm definitely recommending this product because of its high quality and I highly recommend that you use this along with the other GNY skin care products for a much better result.

Glory of New York Fairness and Glow Cream is also available for men.

If you want to know more about Glory of New York products, wait for my reviews and you can also visit Glory of New York - Philippines or Queen B. on Facebook for your inquiries.

P.S. I wasn't paid to write this review and say all of these things. The product was sent to me by the company but this review is 100% honest and unbiased.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission. :)

Simple and Affordable Graduation Makeup

I had already uploaded a Graduation makeup tutorial a few days ago but I wanted to do another Graduation look using much more affordable cosmetics. I know a lot of you would prefer that since some, if not most of us are in a tight budget. Of course, you want to look your best on one of your most special days in your life but we can achieve that beautiful look without spending too much.

Here's the look that I did:

The look is very classic and fresh, perfect for Graduation. Since the colors here are neutral, you can pair it with any lip colors that you like. I personally prefer light lip colors since we're rooting for just a fresh and flawless look. In this tutorial, I featured two different lip colors that you can wear for Graduation --- light pink lips and luscious coral lips.

When I posted the photo on my Facebook page and when I uploaded the video in my YouTube channel, most of the people said that they prefer the light pink lipstick because it's very youthful --- and I actually agree! I also prefer the light pink lips. I just showed you another color in case you wanted more color on your face.

Here are the products that I used to achieve this fresh and simple Graduation makeup look:

FACE
1. San San Soleil Matte Foundation (discontinued) - P140.00
2. San San BB Cream - P149.75
*I mixed these two San San face products to match my skin color. I love the finish of San San Soleil foundation but it's too ashy and light for me so I mixed it with San San BB Cream which is way darker than the Soleil foundation and a little bit darker than my original skin color. You can mix the two together but it depends on your skin color how much of each are you going to use. As for me, I used just a little amount of the San San Soleil and a bigger amount of the San San BB Cream.*
3. Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder Poreless White in Nude Beige - P329.00
4. Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Orleans - P399.00 / refill - P299.00
*I used this to bronze my face just a little.*
5. Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Fantasia - P399.00 / refill - P299.00
*for contouring*
6. ELF Blush in Peachy Keen - P249.75

EYEBROWS
7. San San Eyebrow Pencil No. 3 - P55.00

EYES
8. ELF Primer and Liner Sealer - P249.75
9. Fashion 21 Color Set - around P400.00
10. 4U2 Dream Girl Reflections Eye Shadow Quatro - P194.00
11. San San Age Defying Liquid Liner - P75.00
12. Nichido Mineral Spot Concealer in Neutral - P138.00
13. Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara - P225

LIPS
14. Maybelline WaterShine Lipstick in B24 - around P299.00 *light pink lips*
15. Ever Bilena Famous Lipstick in Watermelon - around P150.00 or less *luscious coral lips*

Here's the video tutorial:

If you haven't seen my Edgy Graduation Makeup yet, here's the video:

Let me know which look do you prefer, the classic neutral look or the edgy graduation look. Congratulations to all the graduates of 2013! May you all have successful careers! Cheers! :)

Edgy Graduation Makeup

It's the month of Graduation again so a lot of YouTube beauty gurus are already uploading their own Graduation makeup tutorials --- including me! I received a lot of requests by my viewers to do a makeup look that they can sport on the most important part of their school life. Graduation makeup looks are usually natural looks and simple yet elegant looks. This look that I did is a wee bit different from the usual Graduation looks. I wanted it to look a little edgier but not too dramatic though. Just a little different from what you think a Graduation makeup look might be.

Here's my Graduation makeup look version 1:

Yes, I said Version 1 because I'm planning to do another one but in that look, I will use local and drugstore cosmetics which I know you will love! :) And that one will be a more classic Graduation makeup look.

For some, this look may be a little dramatic for Graduation because some usually go for classy looks and even no-makeup makeup look but I'm different! Haha! Here's the video tutorial:

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE
1. Glory of New York First Base Foundation Primer
Prime your face for a smoother canvass and to ensure a long-lasting makeup. This also acts as a moisturizer.

2. Revlon Color Stay Foundation in Golden Beige + Ever Bilena BB Cream
Go for a foundation that you trust and one that is long-lasting. You want to look your best on one of the most important events of your life, of course! You can also double it up as concealer.

3. Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Silk
Set your eye area, especially the under eyes, with a lighter shade of powder to highlight and to make you look more awake.

4. Fashion 21 Two Way Cake with Milk Moisturizer No. 2
Set your foundation to make it last longer and to mattify your skin. If you want a dewy finish, it's okay not to set it but I'm recommending it because for sure you will sweat and cry and setting your foundation with powder will help increase the longevity of your makeup. Again, choose a product that you trust.

5. Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Rajah and Fantasia
Contour your face to emphasize your bone structure and to avoid looking flat in photos and videos.

6. Dusty Rose blush from Props Tools and Cosmetics Disco Matte Palette
Add a little color on your face by sweeping a little dusty rose blush along your cheek bones.

EYEBROWS
7. Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in No. 2
Groom and redefine your brows to frame your face. For me, a look will not be complete without this part!

8. In2It Brow Mascara in Copper
Set your brows to tame the hairs.

EYES
9. ELF Eyelid Primer
Don't forget to prime your eyes to avoid the lids from creasing and to make your eye makeup last longer.

10. ELF Duo Eye Shadow Cream in Mocha Swirl
Use the taupe shade as a base for your eye makeup. The brown one is for lining the lower lash lines.

11. Glory Of New York Mineral Eyeshadow Palette in 601
Taupe shade for the lids and the dark brown for contour and definition.

12. San San Age Defying Liquid Liner
To add more life on the eye makeup.

13. Maybelline Crayon Liner in Black

14. Maybelline The Magnum Mascara
Use a waterproof mascara!!! You might cry due to so much joy!

15. Victoria's Secret Metalli Eyes Palette
Brown for the lower lash lines and the beige shade for highlight.

LIPS
16. Glory of New York Lip Liner in Antique Rose

17. Glory of New York Lipstick in 635

That's it! Let me know what you think about this Graduation makeup look by leaving a comment below. :) Keep sending in your requests!

HUGE Glory of New York Haul

So a couple of weeks ago, I shared a photo on Instagram and on my Facebook Timeline of a box full of Glory of New York products which the company sent me! :) FYI, those products are for review and not for sale! Hahaha! Some people asked me if I will sell those products. Anyway, if you want to purchase Glory of New York products, please visit Glory of New York - Philippines or send me a message and I'll help you. :)

Here's the box full of GoNY goodies!!!

If you're wondering what are those interesting products that you can see inside the box, here's the list:

1. Dual Finish Wet Powders
It comes with a mirror and a sponge. I used this already and I love it because it has a smooth/flawless finish. Haven't tried it with a damp sponge yet.

2. Primer Base
I panicked when I first used this because I thought it was too oily, almost like an oil! But then it dries up after a minute and you'll have a smooth canvass! Review soon!

3. Oil-Free Liquid Foundations
Light formula and oil-free! I've used it twice already. It has a light to medium coverage and great for everyday makeup.

4. Total Coverage Foundation
I haven't really tried using these foundations but I did swatch it and I like its consistency.

5. Concealers
Love these concealers!!!

6. Loose Powders
I haven't tried these as well but I have my eyes on the translucent one. Hope it's a good one.

7. Mineral Blush
Never underestimate a product by its look! I thought this product is nothing special because the packaging was not attractive for me but when I tried it out, I was impressed with the pigmentation and the staying power!

8. Mineral Eyeshadow
I was in heaven when I saw these palettes!!! I got a total of 8 palettes and I'm loving all the color. I didn't think that the eyeshadows are pigmented because I didn't want to expect a lot from it because I might just disappoint myself. BUT when I tried to swatch the eyeshadows, I was surprised to see how pigmented the colors are!

9. Advanced Waterproof Eyeliner
To be honest, this product is just okay for me. Nothing really special about it though I still want to try the black one.

10. Mascara
I haven't tried this yet! Review soon!

11. Eyebrow Pencils
Y'all know how much I love collecting brow products because I just love shaping and redefining my brows. That's why I was so happy to have these eyebrow pencils! Review soon.

12. Kohl Eye Pencils
I'm loving all the colors and I am glad that they have a wide selection. Their pencils kind of remind me of the NYX slim eye pencils. Their lip pencils are also comparable with the NYX slim lip pencils.

13. Lip Liners
I told ya, they look like the NYX Slim Lip Pencils! I also love that they have a wide range of colors and these are pigmented as well!

14. Lipsticks
My favorite Glory of New York product!!! I already did a video and review about these lippies and I'm in love with it! Catch the video here.

15. Lip Shines
The color payoff of these lip shines are amazing. Even the lighter ones! Well, except for the clear gloss. Hahahaha!

16. Fairness and Glow Cream (for Men and Women)
THE BEST  night moisturizer I've ever tried!!! Review soon.

17. Heal Cream (for Men and Women)

18. Face Massage Oil (for Men and Women)

19. Anti-Aging and Skin Firm Serum (for Men and Women)
My Mom is currently using this and based on my observation, I think it made her skin smooth and supple. I think we need more time to see if her skin will get firmer. As for the serum for men, I'm still convincing my Father to try it out. Haha!

20. Anti Wrinkle Cream
My Mom is using this with the anti-aging serum. We'll do an update soon.

21. Facial Cleansing
Very light formulation but it thoroughly cleanses my skin! And the scent is addictive! So divine!

22. Aloe Vera All Skin Gel
23. Aloe E Moisturizing Lotion
I haven't tried both of this products but based on the product descriptions, I think it's promising.

24. Anti Stretch Mark
To all the Mommies out there! You might want to try this out! :)

25. Three-in-One Face Cream for Men
It says that this product Refreshes, Repairs, and Restores! Review soon!

26. Shampoo, Shave, and Shower Cleanser For Men
A three-in-one cleanser! I'm asking my brother to use this. Update you soon.

27. Hand and Body Lotion for Men
I gave this to my boyfriend and he said that it's really moisturizing and smells great!

28. Skin Enzyme Peel
This is such an amazing exfoliant! In fact, it's the best exfoliant I've ever tried. No kidding. Not being bias at all! I swear, after using this, it's like my face has a totally newborn skin!

That's all of it! Whew! Thank you so much to Glory of New York for your generosity and trust to The Project Awesome. :)

Please let me know which product would you like me to do a review first.

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)
